Thankful for those who blazed the trail for generations to come. Sixty-seven years ago today, the Memphis State Eight became the first black students to integrate the university and made history. Today our students attended a book signing ceremony for the last living member of Memphis State Eight, Bertha Rogers Looney, and received free autographed copies of her book, “We Dared to be First.” by @uofmfirstgen
