⭐ Meet our latest Stellar Student, Mehmet Selim Tosun!

Known as Selim or Slim, this junior is making the most of his time as a Business Tiger. 🐯
He’s double majoring in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Religious Studies while serving as Vice President of the Fogelman Finance Club, a portfolio manager for the University’s student investment fund and Treasurer for the Student Organization of Religious Exploration. He also shares his expertise as a peer tutor for finance, accounting and economics.

And the accolades don’t stop there. A Dean’s List student every semester, Selim recently completed a six-month internship with the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, where he contributed to major initiatives including the renaming of Memphis International Airport and capital investment planning for future expansion.

When he’s not studying, leading or gaining real-world experience, Selim enjoys hitting the trails at Shelby Farms and the Wolf River Greenway. 🌳🏃‍♂️

From the classroom to the workplace and beyond, Selim is proving there’s no limit to what a Business Tiger can accomplish.

⭐️ Meet Luke Freeman!

A current graduate student, Luke continues to make an impact through academics, leadership and hands-on professional experience.

Luke works with UMRF Ventures supporting Raymond James, where he recently stepped into a Junior Operations Specialist role. Since joining UMRF Ventures in 2023, he has taken on roles ranging from Identity and Access Management Analyst to Shift Lead and Supervisor, building valuable experience in cybersecurity, IT operations, leadership and process improvement.

At the University of Memphis, Luke has been involved in the Weil Scholars Program, MILE, New Memphis Accelerate, CyberTigers, Helen Hardin Honors College and Tigerchor. He also studied abroad in Greece and competed in the UMRF Ventures Digital Delta Defense Capture the Flag competition, where his team placed first overall and he earned the top individual score. 🏆

After graduating magna cum laude with University Honors in May 2026, Luke is continuing his Tiger journey by pursuing an M.S. in Computer Science and a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security and Information Assurance.

From the classroom to the workplace, Luke continues to show what it means to be a Stellar Student. 🐯💙
