Code in the Dark: AI-Assisted is coming!

It's a 60-minute front-end speed challenge where you'll use AI coding tools to recreate an interactive web dashboard from a screenshot, without seeing the live preview while you code!

You’ll have to build and style your interface from scratch, while learning how to leverage AI coding assistants to work quickly under tight time constraints. The dashboard will explore themes around AI ethics and responsible AI use.

🏆 Prizes are up for grabs for the top builds!

ProjectX is back! It’s UofT AI’s undergrad research competition, and this year’s theme is “What is Progress?”

Over 3 months, you and a team of 2–5 will take one original idea from proposal to finished research, with mentorship, workshops, and professional development along the way. Top finalists will present their work live at ConferenceX, one of Canada’s premier student-run AI conferences.

🗓️ Timeline
→ Oct 20: Applications close
→ Oct–Dec: Build + check-ins
→ Jan 15: Final submission
→ Feb: Finalists pitch at ConferenceX

Your idea can be tentative. Think of the application as an interest form. Not limited to just UofT students.
