Yesterday, our Master of Athletic Training students on the Community Outreach Committee got to celebrate our favorite superhero, Wyatt! 💙

Wyatt is the kindest 3-year-old and will soon undergo open-heart surgery. He and his family are amazing people, and it meant so much to spend time with them and see how many people showed up to support them. #🏆 Know an athletic trainer or advocate who deserves recognition? Now is the time to nominate them!

The Utah Athletic Trainers’ Association is accepting nominations for its 2026 Honors & Awards. Help us recognize the individuals making an impact in athletic training across Utah.

Awards include Hall of Fame, Distinguished Athletic Trainer of the Year, High School AT of the Year, College AT of the Year, Clinic AT of the Year, and the Athletic Training Advocate Award.

Modalities Monday!⚡️

This week, we learned different heating modalities!

Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to heat deeper tissues, diathermy uses electromagnetic energy to create heat within the body, and warm whirlpool therapy uses circulating water to provide more superficial heating.

Learning the science behind each modality is important, but so is knowing when, why, and how to use it safely. 🩺
