Transitional tides
Ebb and flow
Pushing and pulling
Playing tug'o'war
With the universe
The rope,
My life.

Sadistic Pleasure
In the way
the universe plays.
The way a tiger
might play with its food
Before consuming it.

Life can be
A cruel domanatrix,
Tying you up in
The most challenging of
Positions .
Taunting you with pleasures,
Vices dangled
in front of your face.

Slipping away...

Have you ever met anything in nature

Pour into yourself.
For yourself.
There is no shame in a table that is sat at alone.
You can not rely on others to fill your cup.
Find ways to give pleasure to yourself in every small moment.
You belong to no one
Your body is earthen stardust
A form merely borrowed
In this moment.
Make the most of this debt
of living with a borrowed vessel.
You never know how much longer
You will have to occupy it.
Take up space.
Live.
Fill your cup to the brim
And savor every last drop
Life is always changing
So best appreciate the small moments
before they're gone.
Accept the possibility of dying alone.
Let it be a blessing.
May it liberate you
From a life spent too afraid to live for yourself.

Teary eyes weaving webs of wisdom,
Every tear drop fallen
Sparkles like stars
interwoven in your macrame.
You work so diligently
Ensuring each strand is tied over and over again
In hopes to catch a bit of heaven
How many times must we revist the lesson?
Heaven cannot be caught and kept in a handbasket.
But Hell can.
Anything you cling to will die and rot away
Eventually.
But why do I cling still?
Long after the last bits of stardust
Have fallen away from my fingertips.
Am I truly the spider spinning this thread?
Or simply just a fly caught in its web?

Faded memories flutter around my mind
I chase them like butterflies
Beautiful and hard to find
Even harder to catch and hold onto
Still I try
Dancing to that familiar tune
Trying to hum along and sing too
But I've forgotten the words
And the melody is wrong
All I'm left with is fragments
Pieces of a puzzle
I can never finish
But I refuse to give up
Chasing butterflies
Holding onto a hope
That they might lead me
To what it is I've forgotten
Some may say I'm naive
Or just too stubborn
To let things go
But I can hardly hear them
Over the ghosts
Begging me to be kept alive
In my mind
Their screams ricochet
Off the empty tattered walls
Haunting me
With their mournful cries.
Don't forget me .

How am I supposed to lay them to rest
If they're in pieces,
And not at peace?
