The presidential speech 💬
I have concluded my visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where, together with members of my delegation, I had the rare honour of entering the Holy Kaaba to pray, and of performing Umrah.

I am deeply grateful to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for extending this privilege to us, and for their gracious hospitality and brotherly care. It reflects the enduring bonds of faith and friendship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

In those sacred moments, I prayed for peace, unity and prosperity for our dear nation and for all Nigerians.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Ghana and Russia have agreed to work together on a 2,000-megawatt nuclear power plant.🇬🇭🇷🇺

The agreement was reached after talks between Ghana’s President John Mahama and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin during the Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow.

According to Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the planned power plant is expected to help Ghana produce more electricity and support the country’s growing industries.

The project is also being described as a revival of Ghana’s long-standing dream of developing nuclear energy, which dates back to the time of the country’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah.

Liverpool and Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo has paid a special visit to Togo, his father's homeland, as he reconnects with his African roots. 🇹🇬

The visit comes after he helped Liverpool secure the 2024/25 Premier League title, giving him an opportunity to explore his family's heritage and strengthen his ties to West Africa.

During his stay, Gakpo received a traditional welcome, interacted with locals, took part in community activities and continued his humanitarian efforts.

His father, Johnny Gakpo, has both Togolese and Ghanaian roots, giving the football star strong ancestral connections to the region.
