🚨 NEW ON THE UES: @reformingpilates is turning up the heat.

The South Florida-born Pilates brand, which opened its first Upper East Side studio last year, is expanding its NYC presence with heated mat Pilates - bringing another way to get your sweat on uptown. 🔥

Reforming Pilates currently operates its UES reformer studio at 1305 Second Avenue, between East 68th & 69th Streets, where it offers boutique group and private reformer classes. The location opened in May 2025 and has quickly become one of the neighborhood’s busier Pilates spots.

The brand has been leaning heavily into its heated mat concept as it expands around New York. Its massive three-story Flatiron “RP Townhouse” includes dedicated heated mat classes alongside reformer studios, and Reforming Pilates also recently signed a 10-year lease for a 2,500-square-foot heated mat location at 233 East 34th Street in Murray Hill.

Expect a high-energy, full-body workout in a heated room, with Reforming Pilates’ current NYC schedule featuring classes like Heated Mat Pilates, Heated Sculpt, and Heated Ass & Abs.

One of the Upper East Side’s most beautiful gallery spaces has a new reason to stop in.

Now through October 24, @salon94 is presenting three exhibitions across three floors of its incredible Beaux-Arts townhouse at 3 East 89th Street, just off Fifth Avenue — and admission is completely free.

The main exhibition, @hamiltonanthea “Comfort Zones,” takes over the second floor with her surreal mix of sculpture, fashion, furniture and design, while the first and third floors celebrate the work and legacy of legendary Italian designer Gaetano Pesce through archival pieces, prototypes and newly fabricated works from his former studio.

And honestly, the setting is almost as good as the art. Salon 94 is housed inside a restored early-1900s mansion with marble details, parquet floors, soaring ceilings and a dramatic staircase that makes the whole visit feel very old-school Upper East Side.

📍 Salon 94, 3 East 89th Street
🎟️ Free admission
🗓️ On view through October 24

BIG taco news for the Upper East Side: @santo.taco is officially making its way uptown.

The buzzy downtown taqueria that has quickly become one of NYC’s most talked-about taco spots is opening its first Upper East Side location at 1435 Third Avenue, at East 81st Street, taking over the former Daona grocery and deli space.

Santo Taco first opened in SoHo in 2025 and has since expanded to Union Square and the West Village, with the Upper East Side now joining the lineup. The concept comes from chef and restaurateur @santiago.perez , who was also one of the founders of @cosmenyc .

If you’ve been downtown, you probably already know what all the hype is about. Their menu centers around freshly made tacos, including Santi’s Steak Trompo with prime New York strip and top sirloin, pork carnitas made with pork belly and ribs, carne asada, chicken, shrimp and vegetarian options, plus tuna tostadas, quesadillas and guacamole with blue corn totopos.

The new location is planned for the northeast corner of Third Avenue and East 81st Street, in the longtime Daona space. According to filings, the restaurant has also applied for a liquor license, so expect more than just tacos when the doors eventually open.

There’s no official opening date announced yet, but Santo Taco is officially headed uptown, and we’ll be keeping you posted as soon as we hear when they’re opening.

UES, we finally have a proper after-dark spot. 🍸🦒

NoMad cocktail bar @obvio.nyc has officially gone uptown, taking over the second floor of @casacruznyc every Thursday through Saturday for a limited-time residency.

The collab is a natural one — Obvio and Casa Cruz are both from restaurateur @juanmsantacruz — and they’ve brought Obvio’s downtown energy uptown, complete with its signature giraffe print behind the DJ booth.

Expect cocktails from Beverage Director @amyracine including Obvio favorites like the Passiflora, Tamarind Mezcalito and Café Olla Carajillo, plus new pisco-forward drinks created just for Casa Cruz like the Marmalade Martini and Secreto Vesper.

Chef @chefjohnfraser is behind the food, with highlights including the Tuna Tartare Tacos, Obvio Burger with clothbound cheddar + Mary Rose sauce, and Casa Cruz’s caviar cones.

And once 8 PM hits, the second floor turns up with a live DJ until midnight. 🪩

The chicest new cafe just opened on Madison Ave ✨🍵

@cultgaia has officially opened its new Upper East Side store at 761 Madison Ave, between East 65th & 66th Streets - and tucked inside is a beautifully designed coffee and matcha bar.

The setup feels more like part of the store itself than a traditional café: a sculptural arched service window carved into the wall, a long stone counter, and just a few stools for sitting with your coffee or matcha.

The cafe opens at 8AM and serves coffee alongside ceremonial-grade matcha from @chitchatla . Chit Chat is also owned by Cult Gaia founder @jasminlarian sister-in-law, bringing the two brands together for the new Madison Avenue space.

The order: their signature Gaia Matcha, made with brown sugar syrup and topped with fresh plum. 💚

Come for the matcha, stay for the store. Between the interiors, the fashion, and one of the prettiest little coffee bars on the Upper East Side, this is definitely one of Madison Avenue’s newest must-stops.

Hidden beneath Madison Avenue, behind an unassuming staircase, sits one of the Upper East Side’s most discreet dining rooms.

@kappomasanyc is the product of a decades-long friendship between legendary Japanese @chefmasanyc and art-world titan Larry Gagosian — bringing together two worlds that, on the Upper East Side, feel destined to meet: exceptional food and exceptional art.

Chef Masa is behind his namesake Masa at Columbus Circle, one of New York’s most celebrated Japanese dining experiences. Kappo Masa takes that same obsession with precision, ingredients and technique and places it in an entirely different setting — tucked below @gagosian Madison Avenue address, with omakase, tasting menus and an expansive à la carte menu.

And the location could hardly be more Upper East Side if it tried.

Practically triangulated between The Mark, The Carlyle and The Surrey, Kappo Masa sits at the center of one of Manhattan’s most rarefied few blocks. It’s the kind of dining room that quietly draws collectors, art-world power players, longtime regulars and New York’s movers and shakers — without ever needing to announce itself.

And then there’s the art.

Picasso. Warhol. Twombly. Lichtenstein.

Dinner here quite literally doubles as a gallery visit. Works from the Gagosian world have lined the walls — and yes, they’re the real thing. Guests have reportedly mistaken pieces for reproductions, only to learn they were sitting beside an original.

Even the room itself is a study in design. The subterranean space, once home to a bank vault, is wrapped in Japanese materials including porous Oya stone, chosen for its sculptural beauty and the way it softens sound.

The result feels less like a traditional restaurant and more like being let into a private corner of the Upper East Side — where world-class Japanese food, museum-worthy art and some of New York’s most interesting people meet downstairs.

Perhaps the most Upper East Side part of all? You could walk past it every day and never know what was hiding beneath you.

Caffe Buon Gusto is expanding on the Upper East Side — but this one is going to be a little different. 🍝🏈

The longtime neighborhood Italian spot is opening a second UES location at 1589 Second Avenue, between 82nd & 83rd, in the former Osteria Nando space. The new awnings are already up, and they specifically read “Sports Bar & Grill” — which gives us a pretty good clue about the direction they’re taking.

Owner Nando Ghorchian says the new location will keep the Buon Gusto DNA, including favorites like homemade pasta, but add a more relaxed sports bar and grill concept centered around watching games, eating and hanging out. The expanded menu is expected to lean heavily into the grill, with steaks, burgers, short rib, sea bass and salmon, alongside Italian dishes and vegetarian/vegan options.

And no, the original 236 East 77th Street location isn’t going anywhere — this is an additional Upper East Side outpost.

The team has said they’re targeting a mid-September opening, so it looks like we shouldn’t have much longer to wait.

How well do you really know the Upper East Side? 🚽👀

GUESS THAT BATHROOM: UES EDITION

We pulled 9 bathrooms from Upper East Side restaurants, coffee shops & hotels… and your job is to identify every single one just from the interior.

Comment your guesses:

First person to get all 9 correct gets their comment pinned. 📌

Consider this the ultimate test of whether you’re actually an Upper East Sider.

Although… maybe the most Upper East Side answer is that you refuse to use a restaurant bathroom and simply wait until you get home. 🤷‍♂️

No cheating. Let’s see who knows their UES bathrooms. taken in Upper East Side by @uppereastside

Let the lines begin 🍦 Mimi’s Frozen Yogurt officially opens TODAY at noon.

We got a sneak preview of the new Upper East Side location, and they absolutely nailed it. Frozen yogurt, but make it very Upper East Side - oversized windows, tons of natural light, warm natural finishes.

Safe to say, this may officially be the bougiest fro-yo shop in New York City.

There are pharmacies… and then there’s @zitomerpharmacy

For more than 75 years, the Madison Avenue institution has been part pharmacy, part department store, part neighborhood concierge.

Much of the Zitomer we know today is thanks to Sharon Sternheim, who, alongside her late husband Howard, helped transform the store from a traditional drugstore into something far more distinctive. Instead of becoming just another chain pharmacy, Zitomer became a highly curated mix of prescriptions, luxury beauty, European skincare, hair accessories, gifts, toys, lingerie, home goods and all the wonderfully specific things you somehow only think to look for at Zitomer.

But what really turned Zitomer from a store into an Upper East Side institution was the service.

For generations, this wasn’t necessarily a place where you walked in as an anonymous customer. Employees knew families. They knew their children. In some cases they watched those children grow up and return with children of their own.

At one point, Zitomer maintained more than 6,000 old-fashioned house-charge accounts. Regulars could essentially call the store, ask for what they needed, say “put it on my charge,” and have it sent home.

And then there were the hotels.

Sitting just blocks from @rosewoodthecarlyle , @themarkhotelny and @thesurreynyc , Zitomer became something of an unofficial extension of their concierge desks.

Perhaps that’s why Zitomer feels so different from almost every other store left in New York.

It isn’t simply old.

It has grown up alongside the neighborhood.

It knew what Upper East Side families needed when they started having children. It knew what travelers at The Carlyle forgot in their suitcases. It knew where its customers went every summer.

Three floors, thousands of products, generations of customers and more than 75 years on Madison Avenue.

Zitomer isn’t just an Upper East Side pharmacy.

It’s an Upper East Side institution. taken in Upper East Side by @uppereastside

Apparently the Upper East Side has officially become the frozen yogurt capital of New York City. 🍦😭

Because yes… ANOTHER one is coming.

Viral Greek frozen yogurt spot @myka_greek is opening on the Upper East Side at 239 East 80th Street, just off Second Avenue, bringing its signature Greek yogurt made with milk + goat’s milk kefir, plus toppings like baklava, pistachio cream, fruit compotes, honey and olive oil uptown. 🇬🇷✨

MYKA has already caused some serious lines downtown and around the city — and now it’s joining a neighborhood that is suddenly VERY committed to fro-yo.

And the craziest part? We know about a few MORE frozen yogurt spots coming to the neighborhood that haven’t been announced yet. 👀

Stay tuned… the UES fro-yo wars are only getting started.

Are we officially at peak froyo yet… or are you welcoming every single one? 🍦👇 taken in Upper East Side by @uppereastside
