Quite a weekend 🎈🍂🥱 Guys I'm pooped. Life is moving a mile a minute and like molasses at the same time. Turns out parenting three young kids is insane but also worth it but so insane. P much everything in life has felt like balancing on a highline over a gorge in my skivvies with no way off but to figure it out and hope no one dies. There's definitely an ache for calm and peace that I might just decide to muster within myself soon, but until then I'll be over here, a hot mess of sweat, mixed e m o t i o n s and hanging on every last word of kindness I hear and reflect back into the world that hopefully makes a difference. Also Phoebe and I are on tour (w/ @upstatelovesyou ) for the next two months and maybe we'll see some folks? Idk- HV, Hartford, Boston, NH, Portland, Burlington, Ithaca, Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, Albany, Western Mass, Providence, Manchester- anyone?! The band could use some butts in seats, truly. We have a pretty tight cool set rn and also we're trying our very best. Ok bye 🍄 by @upstatelovesyou

I’m thrilled to be hosting @upstatelovesyou for an intimate show at the studio on November 5th. If you haven’t heard of them, you should. They weave a stunning tapestry of harmonies, grooves, and heart-stopping arrangements across their new album, Abalone.

I have the pleasure of working with @dylan.mckinstry a few weeks of the year in Watkins Glen schools working on arranging songs and performing with the kids- it’s a special time, and Dylan is a special dude. He’s also a beast of a musician and a great addition to this band.
•
I also recall spending a day at my buddy (everyone’s buddy!) @superniceguytakingpix in Lansing recording Mary and Melanie when they were called ‘Upstate Rubdown’ in like 2011? 2012? Jeez I feel old. They’ve dropped the ‘Rubdown’ and have come a long way since then (as has my engineering 😅)- it’ll be a delight to reconnect with everyone in a warmly-lit cozy barn in November. Y’all better show out for this one!

Big LOVE & THANKS to @981kze for having @upstatelovesyou perform live on The Parlour Sessions this past Friday! What an absolute blast… 💥🤘🏼🤍📻

Everyone everywhere tune into your local radio stations that still play great music! They’re often the hub of your hometown music community and way cooler for music discovery than some shitty AI algorithm! 🎯

Touring looks a bit different these days 😁🍼

See what it’s like touring with a 3 month old, and then come see us play some music this month! Don’t forget, Abalone is out on BandCamp now ♥️

Our full-length album, Abalone, is out LIVE on BandCamp!!! And NOT live on other streaming platforms for its first month on the interwebs. Take this time to pause your streaming platform and go listen to the album on BandCamp and support live, working musicians by buying the digital download. 💝 Happy BandCamp Friday (when every penny from each sale goes to living artists) 💝
