Atomik : Less is MoreIf you’re in the Miami area or are planning on visiting, you better add this to your itinerary and experience Atomik’s exhibition. The works will be on display starting July 24th and run thru October 1st, at the Main Library of Miami Dade County. The opening reception will be held on August 8th, from 1p.m.-3p.m. The exhibit showcases the evolution of his iconic smiling orange character, which was born after the Orange Bowl was demolished in 2008. I’m sure you are familiar with his works and have seen them in cities all over, but if you haven’t then come see the works for yourself! The library is located at 101 West Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33130. The hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. thru 6 p.m., Monday thru Saturday (closed Sunday). Congrats Atomik!! Bisco Smith : PIECES“Concrete crumbles, digital dust. Static to sirens, build and construct.”Cycol Gallery presents PIECES, a new solo exhibition by Bisco Smith. Opening night is July 30th, from 6PM-10PM, it will be on view thru 9/12. From his early 90’s roots in graffiti and music, he’s been evolving ever since. Smith’s works are derived from a variety of formats, from canvas, murals, digital screens and handwritten concrete to name a few. He is known for his lyrical approach to deconstructed expressionism characterized by gestural marks and abstracted text that embody the energy of the moment. This exhibition is one you definitely do not want to miss! Chris RWK : “Never Lose Sight”Was in attendance on Saturday to support my brother Chris RWK, at his new solo exhibition at the Krause Gallery, which will be on display thru August 19th. We were lucky to get there early and get an awesome tote (goodie bag) full of stickers, pins, patches etc. originally it was for the first 25 guests, they were so nice that it was extended to the first 50 guests! All of the works were amazing as always. My friend and I are looking forward to getting the works we purchased. The interactive canvas was also a nice touch, (UptownWill & V+L made the cut) once finalized it will be auctioned off, all of the proceeds will go to “Biting Back - Art for a Good Paws”. They raise money for local animal rescues in the New York City area. Special thanks to the curators and hosts at @krausegallery for taking care of my family and accommodating my son! Crash: The BlueprintClosing ReceptionAmazing night and always a pleasure to hangout and catch up with John “Crash” Matos (finally signed my black book)! The closing reception was very chill and the exhibition will unfortunately be coming to a close on July 15th. You still have time to catch his fascinating works. Nite Owl:Special shouts outs and thank you to my brother Nite Owl for the crazy care package! The personalized limited edition skate deck came out insane! The stickers, wow I had so many I lost track. It was an honor meeting you at the “Art of the City” exhibit and thanks for the dope write up in my book! Looking forward to catching up again soon! Nite Owl is an Oakland, California based artist who is known for his famous colorful and abstract owl renditions. From works on canvas, to wall murals, custom collectibles, and even stickers in random locations, keep your eyes peeled cause you may see his work where you least expect it. His works have spanned the globe, from Amsterdam to France, New York City to the Berlin Wall, Tokyo to San Francisco and many more. Nite Owl is also a co-creator of the “No Likes Tour”. Sekai No Owari:Sekai No Owari, translated “End Of The World”, is a very famous Japanese pop band. They were formed in 2005 and consists of 4 members, Nakajin, Fukase, Saori and DJ Love. They’ve released 7 albums, being nominated for 20 different awards, from Japan Record Awards to MTV VMAJ’s, and winning 14 of them! They’ve also have had 22 Japan tours and 3 world tours. One of their songs is even a theme song for the anime “One Piece”. Medicom Toys released two different 4 pack collaborations with the band, first one was a rabbrick version and the second one was a regular bearbrick version. I believe there also 400% versions (non-rabbrick). Here’s the ones I have and I hope you enjoy them! Crash: The BlueprintCame down Friday to the opening night of my friend John “Crash” Matos’ solo exhibition, at The Cycol Gallery. In addition to honoring and admiring all of his works, I was also in awe of the legendary guests who were in attendance. Which included, Lee “Lee” Quinones, Albert “SAMO/BOMB1” Diaz, Dr. Revolt RTW, Carlos “Mare139” Rodriguez, Anthony “Cose TDS” Feliciano and Danos E.S.A. just to name a few. Thanks for all of the write ups in my book too! Was fortunate to acquire a limited edition 3D lenticular print signed by the man himself! If you haven’t come to see the exhibit yet, I highly recommend you do so and around the corner is an awesome Crash throw up!
