Day 285 of Year 6 of my 365 project:

Today was closing day on my duplex listing. This journey began when school was still in session in the spring, and just closed today. It was a true, wild-ride roller coaster that finally found its happy ending.

This job is NOT for the faint of heart, but I truly love it. I will admit to feeling defeated multiple times on this one - sometimes it felt like bad luck was just camped out in the pretty little side yard of this property.

I work equally hard for all of my clients. I go above and beyond. To be entrusted with the huge responsibility of helping someone buy or sell a house, you just have to - beyond legally being bound by our fiduciary duties. And it’s how I move through the world.

In the end, the universe sent the right buyer our way at what ended up being just the right time. Hard work, intentional planning, data, experience, great communication - they’re all incredibly important to a successful sale but I’ve been doing this long enough now that I truly believe that karma, the universe, whatever you’d like to call it - also plays a roll. This listing, as challenging as it was, was meant to be mine as the universe told me through weird and wacky ways, time and time again. And boy howdy, did I learn a lot on this one.

This afternoon, I locked up for the last time, and stepped outside into a beautiful, sunny fall day with a smile on my face. I’ll be curious to see how its next chapter goes - and considering my girlfriend lives 2 blocks away (one of those many weird and wacky coincidences) I’ll likely be walking by often. taken in Kerns by @urbannestpdx
