My seven-year-old American-born learning and embracing her Urdu.

People often ask me, “Why are you teaching Urdu to your kids?” My answer is simple: so they stay connected to their roots, culture, and family. Language isn’t just words it’s emotions, traditions, and memories.
Watching Asmara learn Urdu so confidently and naturally makes my heart full and my eyes well up 🥹.
Teaching kids a second language has amazing benefits: it improves memory, problem-solving skills, creativity, and empathy. Being bilingual also helps them connect with their heritage and communicate with family across generations.
I love seeing Asmara embrace Urdu it’s not just a language, it’s a bridge to our roots and our shared moments ❤️❤️

One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is to let them experience life beyond the comfort of their little world 🤍 To see its struggles, understand the value of hard work, appreciate the beauty around them and find happiness in the simplest things.

Sadly so many of us have a story to tell. Don’t mistake religious appearance for religious character. What someone wears or how they look doesn’t always reflect who they truly are.
Social media has given survivors a platform to speak up, raise awareness, support one another and bring attention to behavior that often stays hidden.

It is heartbreaking to see reports of children being abused in a country where Islam teaches us to protect children, respect others and stand against ظلم and injustice.
We cannot treat this as normal. We need to teach our children about safety, support those who have been hurt, hold abusers responsible and help parents recognize warning signs.

Every child deserves to feel safe, protected and heard.

Parents… please stay vigilant! know where your children are, who they are with and who has access to them. Whether you are outside or at home, don’t let being busy make you overlook their safety.
Our children deserve to grow up safe, protected and heard. It’s time we stop staying silent and start educating.
