Today, we bid farewell to a maestro whose art transcended borders and touched countless hearts. The rhythms of Zakir Husain’s tabla carried the soul of our culture, blending tradition with innovation, leaving a legacy that will resonate forever. 🥁💔

Rest in rhythm, Ustaad.

jī dhoondta hai phir wahi fursat ki raat din
baiThe raheñ tasawoor-e-janan kiye hue

Again this heart seeks those days of leisure as of yore
Sitting just enmeshed in thoughts of my paramour

Hum hi ko qatil kahegi duniya, Humara hi qatl-e-aam hoga,
Hum hi koo'ein khodte phirenge, Hum pe hi paani haraam hoga,
Agar ye hi zehniyat rahi toh mujhe ye darr hai iss sadi mein,
Na koi ABDUL HAMEED hoga,
Na koi ABDUL KALAAM hoga..
