PureJoy Quarter Century

Dear God,

Twenty-five.

Who would’ve thought?

Not the little girl who counted birthdays but never imagined she’d one day count mercies instead.

I have been many women before becoming this one.

The girl who smiled too quickly.
The girl who cried too quietly.
The girl who called waiting a punishment…

until she realised it was Your protection wearing ordinary clothes.

Somehow,
You turned every “almost” into “on time.”

Every heartbreak into holy ground.

Every unanswered prayer into proof that You could see further than I could.

Perhaps that’s why my names always sounded like promises.

PureJoy.
Joy that outlived sorrow.

Joy that found Christ…
and never looked back.

Today, I am not celebrating because life has been easy.

I’m celebrating because through every version of me…

You never changed Your mind about me.

And if this is only a quarter of the story…

I already know the ending is good.

Because the Author has been faithful with every page.
