the first time i checked the lyrics of BiiiG, i knew i had to make a post about it, because yes, you can totally make a pop hit that distinctively reflects your own language and culture, and that's exactly what this song is! 20 years, man, and GD's language game is still going strong throughout his discography. OUR KOREAN TEACHER, Y'ALL 🤭🤌🏼💛🩵🩷

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝟐: 𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 ❤️‍🩹

In part 1, I focused more on the korean lyrics, but as i listened to the album more, I found beauty in some of the english lines as well. And i realized I totally forgot to mention certain lyrics like the "TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES" one... so i was like, okay whatever, I'll make a sequel 💁🏼‍♀️✨

I loved how you guys were commenting your fav lyrics and songs under my previous post, you nice keep going~

BTW: What is the song you didn't like at first but now you love it? For me, that's Like Animals 🤭 by @uri.aesthetics

Ngl, the last one is just a personal reminder to MYSELF 🙈🥲

I made this post solely because seeing these lyrics, I feel reassured, it's them, it's so them 💛

What's your fav song on the album?

Analysis of Abyss, song and music video by Woodz ✨

And our dream collaboration with @mykdramaslog ❤️‍🩹 we hope people will read this and watch the music videos (of Abyss and Journey) and feel all the emotions we felt, but even if this post gets burried under millions of flashy reels, we actually enjoyed making and discussing it SO MUCH, so it's okay!

Big shout out to @nojam.journal for introducing me to this song and MV 2 years ago, which made me later do the same and show it to Pradnya and I have to say Pradnya's brain reached her full potential when we were working on this 😂🤭 it was so fun to peel off all the layers of this music video, one by one!

Btw, this is just our interpretation and one beautiful thing about this video is that there is no official explanation to the metaphors they used and it can actually mean different things to different people 🥹

Here's one for IM JAE-I
Here's to a character with a good heart, who acts in an extremely annoying way throughout the first half of the drama but as viewer you just know he has it in him to turn his life around and you keep rooting and hoping for him to choose his own path! ✨

Thankfully, he met 3 amazing people that showed him different way of living and dealing with misfortune: Haerim (who chose compassion over jealousy),
Eunjo (who chose kindness over hatred and bitterness)
and Yeol (who chose to be a friend instead of an enemy) and that helped him to find who he truly was 🩷

PS: for that one quote (slide 5) i used the translation by @vivi_to_my_sehun our local hojin-fueled translator ✨😂 so thanks nishi 💃🏼❤️🤓 by @uri.aesthetics

Honestly I've been meaning to make a post like this for a while but I finally had the time and the motivation for it at the same time. Michael Jackson is known for many things but I always feel like not enough people know him for the absolutely unhinged revolutionary woke internal existential crisis fueled lyrics he wrote 🥹

It feels a bit like when I made a post about Yoongi's lyrics and everyone who knew him just as an idol was surprised, people might feel surprised by Michael the same way.

Fun fact: Michael wanted to release We've had enough (slide 4) in 2001 but the music company wouldn't let him do it because of "the public sentiment", it eventually got released in 2004 but they kinda buried it, it's not even on Spotify, but you can listen to it on Youtube 😭 i knew he wanted that song to be HEARD and he fought for it.

Honestly, Michael's lyrics were so positive at the beginning of his career but as he faced the reality of the world he lived in, he started to write more serious stuff and commenting on society with a more critical eye. Strangely, or maybe not so strangely, those are my favorite songs.
