Have you tried this technique for compressing cymbals?🤯

@jensbogren is always thinking outside the box. When compressing a stereo pair of overheads, try to lower the volume of the side that has the quieter cymbal, compress and then bring that volume back after compression.

This trick removes snare from your overheads 🥁

@johnddouglass shows a cool trick to reduce the snare transient in your overheads, that allows you to compress the cymbals and not the snare. You’ll need to create a key spike for your snare drum, but after that this technique is quite effective.
