Day:2 Slowing Down for Poetry - A poetic pause with Priya Malik

Interaction with her is always so special for me, and the way she listens everyone with utmost calmness and poise, is commendable. I got so much insight that how to improve writing and performance pattern through this 2days workshop. @priyasometimes ji has given me beautiful feedback on my poetry and suggestions as well on which I'll definitely work on. I would like extend my gratitude towards @kommuneity , @tagmangoofficial & @whatyoucrave.in for organizing such a beautiful workshop and a special thank you to @priyasometimes ji for given your time from the hectic schedule and for sharing your knowledge with us. It was an amazing experience at the premiere of Sheer Qorma, A short film which is LGBTQAI+ centric critically acclaimed and felicitated with many awards at different Film Festivals accross the globe... Thank you so much @farazarifansari for bring this issue in such a beautiful way and addressed many social issues under one umbrella. Brilliant work done by @azmishabana18 , @divyadutta25 , @reallyswara & @priyasometimes ...

If there was one person who integrated the Pravasi Malayalees into the cultural scene of Kerala, it was Sir Soorya Krishnamoorthy. A benevolent person, he not only organised performances of deserving artists and art forms across multiple states of India and other countries but also ensured maximum participation from artists settled outside of Kerala and mobilised local cultural bodies to organise events across the Globe. He was a pathbreaker in many ways, but I would like to make a special mention of his unique thought, an award he constituted during his Chairmanship tenure at the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy: The Pravasi Kalashree & Kalaratna Award, which recognises the work in the arts sector by the Pravasi Malayalee Artists, also the numerous ' Pravasi Nataka Vedi's' and the 'Mohiniyattam Festivals' held across the country and within Kerala which undoubtedly helped popularize the art forms. Further, neglected artforms such as street plays, Kathaprasangam, magic shows, and Naadan Paatukal were also introduced alongside the Nangiarkoothu, Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam performances. I was blessed indeed to coordinate the Soorya Festivals and later the KSNA activities outside the state of Kerala across the state of Gujarat and Mumbai between 2011 and 2014. Also If ever we needed a stage to premier or showcase our creative productions, the Soorya stage would always be committed to supporting us. Sir, you will always live in our memories as the Soorya to Art as we salute your unwavering commitment to the Art Fraternity. 🙏My Humble Pranaamam 🙏.

इश्क़ मेरा अधूरा है, तो अधूरा ही सही,
मगर मेरे लिये वह अधूरा तो नहीं,
उसके दयार-ए-इश्क़ में मैं नहीं,
मगर मेरे दयार-ए-इश्क़ में सिर्फ़ है वहीं,
मेरे हिस्से का वह मेरे पास है,
अगर उस हिस्से में हम साथ है;
तो क्याँ ये इश्क़ संपूर्ण ही नहीं?
माना उसे मुझसे मोहब्बत नहीं,
मगर मेरे हर ज़र्रे में उसी का होना क्याँ काफ़ी नहीं?
इश्क़ अगर ला-हाँसिल हो,
तो उससे इश्क़ करना ही छोड़ देना; लाज़मी तो नहीं,

After what felt like forever, having our beloved Guru, Dr. Ayswaria Ma'am , and my dearest dance mates(Nrityodans), friends, and loved ones all together under one roof was truly special. 🥰💫
A little party at home, endless laughter, beautiful conversations, old memories, new moments, and the same bond that dance has given us through all these years. 💃🏻❤️
