Some of our adult clients have been enjoying the nice weather, this October, by going to the Wegerzyn Gardens and going out into the URS courtyard to hang their handmade birdfeeders!🌞

Our Adult Day Center Program focuses on socially-engaging activities for adults with developmental or acquired disabilities. We address physical, social, and psychological needs while fostering independence and self-advocacy.

How are you enjoying the warm weather?

🌟 Success Story Spotlight 🌟

Meet Bentley!

Transitions — moving from one task or place to the next — can feel really big. For Bentley, they were an area that took real work, patience, and a whole lot of grit.
Over the past several months in occupational therapy, Bentley has been building exactly that. With the help of visual timers — especially the Time Timer — and consistent practice across different settings, what once led to significant upset now looks very different. He pauses. He prepares. He moves forward.
Even when leaving something he loves.

The best part? His mom reports the timers are working at home too. That's the real milestone — when a skill leaves our walls and becomes part of everyday life.
Bentley, we see your hard work. We see your growth. We are so proud of you. 💙

We are SO CLOSE to selling out our very last duck for Saturday's Regatta!

Adopt NOW: https://tinyurl.com/ymvkwhz2

And you'll want in, because look at our 3rd, 4th and 5th place prizes!

🥉 3rd Place: A David Yurman necklace from James Free Jewelers, a $500 Square One Salon & Spa basket, AND a Hand and Stone massage gift certificate. Bling, pampering, and a massage. We call this the "treat yourself" prize.

🏡 4th Place: $1,000 to Watson's and $1,000 to Brunner's Lawn and Services. That's $2,000 toward the backyard of your dreams. Hot tub AND a lawn worth showing off.

🍗 5th Place: $1,000 in Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards plus $500 to City BBQ. We did the math. That's roughly 700 wings. Or a wing a day for almost two years. Or one very ambitious Saturday. Your call.

Every duck is $5 and every duck is a chance. Adopt yours before they're gone: https://tinyurl.com/ymvkwhz2

What would YOU do with $2,500 cash? 💰

Pay off a credit card. Book a beach trip. Buy 500 rubber ducks (we won't judge). Finally fix the thing in the garage you keep pretending not to see.

Our 1st Place prize at the 23rd Annual URS Rubber Duck Regatta, presented by AES Ohio, is $2,500 CASH, sponsored by our friends at Advantage Car & Credit! 🦆

A great second prize too, which is as good as cash! 2nd Place takes home a $1,000 7-Eleven/Speedway gift card PLUS a $500 Visa gift card from Chapel Electric. That's $1,500 of gas, snacks, and whatever else your heart desires.

Here's the thing: we are down to our very last ducks. Once they're gone, they're gone. Adopt yours today for just $5 at the link below and you're in the running for every prize on Saturday. You don't even have to be there to win. 💜https://donate.ursdayton.org/checkout/46439

ICYMI: Our CEO Rachel Zidaroff and Vivian O'Connell, Ohio Impact Leader for presenting sponsor AES Ohio, stopped by Living Dayton to talk all things Regatta! Check out the video at the link below. 📺

A little teamwork, a LOT of rubber ducks! 😎💛

Our DH crew spent the morning volunteering with @ursdayton helping sort, organize and prep ducks for this weekend’s Rubber Duck Regatta!

Such a fun way to pitch in together and support an organization doing incredible work right here in our community. And yes… we officially underestimated just how many rubber ducks can fit in one room. 😂

Be sure to adopt your duck- text instructions are in the second pic! ✨

Meet Addie!

Two years ago, Addie began speech therapy at URS with significant speech, language and reading delays. Today, she speaks in full sentences and has made amazing progress in her language and reading skills. She continues to impress our team with her hard work and positive attitude.

Did you know speech-language pathologists play a critical role in literacy development? If you have concerns about your child's speech, language or reading skills, contact URS for a FREE screening with one of our SLPs: 937-233-1230.

Keep shining, Addie! We are so proud of you. 💜
