F-16 Familiarization Flights!!!

C/Stocks, C/Rode, and C/Jolly got to feel what 8+ Gs does to the body on Friday when they rode along as sandbags for the 152nd and 195th fighter squadrons at the National Guard base in Tucson. We were VERY GRATEFUL to be allowed into their jets and briefing rooms for a day.

Just one of many great opportunities that our detachment brought our cadets. And as Colonel Christoffer says, all it takes is to just “pick up the dang phone”

Nothing more to say except that it was AWESOME

Last week, Doniel and I had the opportunity to spend time with more than 1,100 future military leaders at Virginia Tech’s Corps of Cadets, including Air Force ROTC juniors and seniors preparing to commission as second lieutenants.

We talked about leadership, readiness, modernization, taking care of Airmen and families, and the responsibility that comes with choosing a life of service.

Military service will ask a lot of them. It will also give them opportunities to lead, grow, and make a difference few professions can match.

I’m motivated by every cadet I met who raised their hand and chose this path. Seeing your commitment, hearing your questions and watching how seriously you are preparing to lead gives me tremendous confidence in the future of our Air Force, our military, and our country.

TW04 kicked off with a Mock Physical Fitness Assessment (MPFA), giving cadets a chance to see where they stand and what they can keep improving on before the official PFA.

Later that day, cadets took part in a higher-intensity LLAB focused on professionalism and preparation. With Friends and Family Day and Pass and Review coming up later this semester, cadets continued sharpening their drill and attention to detail through Field Drill Evaluations (FDEs). They took notes, learned new drill movements, and practiced staying focused while making quick corrections.

The skills they’re building now will come together later this semester as cadets have the opportunity to showcase their progress in front of friends and family and take part in the wing’s formal Pass and Review ceremony.

To finish off the week, congratulations to Oscar Flight for earning TW04’s Warrior Flight! 🏆💪

GAFPB Training🇩🇪🇺🇸

This morning, a few cadets participated in a 100m swim practice for GAFPB (German Armed Force Proficiency Badge). GAFPB is a German military award that the U.S and other allied service members can earn by completing a series of physical requirements.

You are not forgotten.

For 24 continuous hours, Det 842 carried the POW/MIA flag in honor of the American service members who were prisoners of war, those who remain missing in action, and the families who continue to wait.

Through every mile, every hour, and every handoff, the mission remained the same: keep the flag moving and keep their memory alive.

More than 100 miles later, one message remains:
You are not forgotten.
