The Castledare Miniature Railway is such a simple but wholesome experience for kids. Watching my little one enjoy the mini train ride was honestly the highlight.

A few things to know before you go:
• Bookings are online only (no walk-ins)
• Book in advance — spots fill up quickly
• Kids under 2 ride free 🙌
•Only running from Wilson station until mid 2026

If you’re looking for an easy, relaxed and family-friendly outing in Perth, this is such a good one.

I'm 34, and one thing I've realised is that earning money and managing money are two very different things.

These days, I'm much more intentional about where my money goes.

I think twice before buying things I don't really need, and I pay attention to those little recurring expenses that we often forget about.

I've even created a budget spreadsheet and, honestly, I stick to it to a T. Because I'd rather plan where my money goes than wonder where my entire salary disappeared at the end of the month. 😂

I've also realised that not every purchase needs to make me happy.

Sometimes, having money saved and knowing I'm prepared for unexpected expenses gives me more peace of mind than buying something new.

But don't get me wrong… I'm not giving up my occasional shopping, my coffee or my holidays. 🫠😂

Those are my guilty pleasures, and I'd happily spend money on a holiday any day!

For me, it's not about stopping myself from enjoying life. It's about being intentional with my money so I can enjoy the things I love without constantly stressing about finances.

Because financial freedom, to me, isn't about never spending money. It's about being able to spend it without the guilt or the stress.

I discovered Mughlai after 9 years of living in Perth… so when I heard they’d added new dishes to the menu, I obviously had to go back! 👀🤤

Some of the highlights:

✨ Cheese Chilli Pakora
✨ Lamb Chops
✨ Chicken Curry
✨ Shahi Paneer
✨ Missi Roti - one of the only few places in Perth serving it!

And if you’re visiting, don’t skip the mocktails 🍹 Their menu is seriously impressive, and there are so many fun flavours to try.

Pleasantly surprised to see this new menu item at @ikea_australia

Dahl and Rice, so we had to try it and was surprised that it actually tasted good.
