We remember and celebrate the life of Bill Holder, former dean of USC Leventhal School of Accounting, whose leadership, vision, and dedication to students left an enduring mark on our community. His legacy lives on through the many students, colleagues, and friends whose lives he touched.

He once reflected on his time at USC, “It’s been my good fortune to come to USC when I got the opportunity and my good sense to stay here once I could.”

We are so grateful for Bill Holder’s lasting impact on the Trojan Family and the accounting profession.

Michael Norona has been appointed the 2026 commencement speaker for USC Leventhal School of Accounting. Norona is a valuable member of the Leventhal Board of Councilors, contributing over 37 years of strategic, operational, and financial leadership to many well-known organizations, as well as experience leading transformational change in high-growth environments.

“Accounting is the language of business, and a Leventhal degree has prepared our students with the technical and soft skills to thrive in this changing environment,” Norona said. “Beyond their academic talents, I am so inspired by the global mindset, social responsibility, and authentic character of our 2026 graduating class — it is these traits, along with their positivity and determination to improve the world, that give me so much confidence in our future.”

USC Football and Leventhal School of Accounting teamed up to offer a series of financial wellness workshops focused on building strong financial habits, investing, and long-term planning. These workshops are designed to help student-athletes with navigating the new landscape of paid college athletics and name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals.

“Identifying and cultivating game-changing partnerships is critically important to the success of USC Athletics, and this collaboration with Leventhal and Marshall is a textbook example of how our department can leverage on-campus expertise and resources to ensure our student-athletes continue to reach their full potential in all they do,” said Jen Cohen, USC Athletics director. by @uscleventhal
