“In Questa Reggia” from Turandot (Giacomo Puccini).
.
While on ballet class I discovered a way to breath with my diaphragm and one day while singing, without trying I just felt my voice really supported and loud, and realized it was because of that little detail I discovered while doing other art form. Art supports art it seems.
.
Been thinking about going to LA with a speaker and give a street concert, I used to do it in other parts of California, people would sit on the grass while I was in this lovely spot on the other side of the lake, one day I didn’t notice and there was like maybe 10-15 people paying close attention to what was happening. That day I was blasting mezzo arias I remember, some tourist would walk the little bridge to record just next to me, it was lovely. by @useless_arch1v3

“Salgo già…” Aria of Abigaille from Nabucco (Verdi)

Oct2023 / Jul2026

I didn’t believe it when I used to hear that some vocal qualities can’t be rushed, but are instead acquired with time. I’ve been settling more and more into my mezzo repertoire, yet I’ve always loved the duality found in dramatic soprano arias such as this one.

It has been a joy to sing all of these things simply for myself—to explore, to listen, to discover what comes with time. Some journeys are meant to be walked alone. by @useless_arch1v3

A month and a half ago, I promised @rosariomurillo5678 that I would sing for her. We were both closing chapters of our lives in parallel, and I told her I’d practice—so I did. Though I never got the chance to sing in front of her, I have to admit I always thought it would’ve been a lot of fun.

Passionate, intelligent, funny, loving, and courageous. Though never a teacher of mine, I believe some of life’s greatest lessons are learned through people’s actions.

From you, I learned nothing less than commitment to something greater than oneself. A soul that exudes devotion to art—a passion one is either born with or isn’t.

I salute you, Maestra. Thank you.

Recorded while thinking about the promise I made, along with a clip from 2022 of me singing the same aria outside the Esperanza Iris Theatre in Mexico City.
