When I was a kid, one day before school I put Vaseline in my hair to keep it wet looking. Around lunch I looked like a Lego guy. 🤣 Ooops!

I had a friend who died in a tragic motorcycle wreak a couple of years ago. When he was 28, a truck side swiped him and projected him quiet a ways. When he landed, the motorcycle fell on his chest. We used to hang out together all the time - like a brother. I went street racing with him, swimming,  sedoing at the lake, camping. He did all kinds of stuff with my family.
A few years before the wreak, he found a job that moved him away. While away, he met this girl. They got married and had two sons. One day, I was in Chick-Fil-A, and as I waited in line, I could tell this little boy was staring at me. There was a strange connection. As I sat down and saw his face. Without a doubt, I knew it was my friends son. I had never met or seen either of his sons, but I knew instantly he was one. He looked so much like his father. Both him and his brother were sitting at a booth with an older lady I did not know.
I thought to myself, what should I do? None of them knew me, but still, I had to introduce myself and say something. I turned around and asked the lady what their names were. She said their names, and I looked at both of them and said, "I knew your Dad!" I like to talk with stories, so I just started telling them stories about their Dad. The lady told me she was watching them for their mother, and they were both too real good boys.
They were locked into everything I said about their Dad.

I told them random things like how he could do a back flip on the diving board & how he was a great swimmer. When I did the littlest, one pointed to himself and said. " I'm a good swimmer too!!!" They were 4 and 2 when he died and now were 7 and 10. The lady told me they didn't know anything about their Dad, and they had always wanted to know how tall he was. I stood up and told them he was as tall as me. I'm 6'2, but he was more like 5'10. But I'm sure the Lord will forgive me because I wanted him to be close to as tall as they had always pictured him in their minds. They smiled and listened to every story. I could tell they didn't want to forget a single word. Well, after a while, the lady said they had to go. See the comments of this post to continue the story... by @userquery

I still remember my first dance. I learned something that day, till this day I have never forgotten. Customarily, the boy picked his dance partner, but this year, the girls were told to pick the guy they wanted to dance with. This was more to teach us to dance than anything, but getting picked was a big deal. I remember waiting with all the other boys as the girls huddled up to go over their game plan. I wondered which boy would get picked first or second? Who's in the top 5 or the top 10 of the guys. Would I be in that group? So the first girl steps up to pick & guess who it was. Not me, that's for sure. Then the 2nd girl. Guess who she picks? Not me, that's for sure. Girl, after girl picked & not one even gave me a glance, no one seemed to pick me. Girl after girl walked down the line & nothing. The weird kids were getting picked, but still, no one picked me. I felt so bad. I was so sad. I was so close to leaving. There weren't many guys left & it wasn't looking good for me. At that moment in my heart, I asked God why? I was always nice & good. Why didn't anyone want me? The Lord spoke to my heart & and said, "You've been thinking about yourself. What about the girl that's going to choose you? Think about her. She's standing before everyone & picking you. Think about her." At that moment, everything in me changed. It didn't matter what she looked like or who she was, I made a promise to God & myself that I was going to make sure my girl, had the best time out of every girl there. This was going to be all about her & every girl would be jealous of her. As I was thinking all this. A girl came from the back, stepped forward, and chose me! Yea! Did I keep my promise? You bet I did & then some. We had a great time. I spun her & we had so much fun. The other guys were stiff trying to look cool. But not me, I spun & dipped her. Everyone was watching us & and yes, every girl there was jealous of her! We laughed & had so much fun. I made this dance all about her, not about them or me. by @userquery
