The Shiba Inu behind the Doge meme became one of the most recognizable animals in internet history. The famous photo came from Kabosu, a rescue dog whose owner Atsuko Sato began sharing pictures of her online in 2010. By 2013, Kabosu’s sideways expression was everywhere, usually surrounded by colorful Comic Sans phrases like “such,” “much,” “very” and “wow.” The intentionally awkward captions gave Doge a style that was immediately recognizable and incredibly easy for people to remix. Kabosu’s expression was especially perfect for reaction images because she somehow looked confused, judgmental and amused at the same time. As internet humor changed, Doge continued appearing in newer memes rather than disappearing with most early 2010s formats. Doctor Doom and Doctor Strange have one of Marvel’s most interesting rivalries because both characters operate in worlds of intelligence and magic. Lanterns has entered its final stretch with Episode 7 pushing the mystery and Green Lantern mythology further than most of the season before it. The episode puts John Stewart and the remaining version of Hal Jordan at the center again, giving Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler another chance to carry the story through their chemistry. Critics have particularly highlighted the episode’s stranger cosmic elements after much of the series deliberately stayed grounded on Earth. John’s investigation finally takes him beyond the familiar setting and begins connecting Hal’s past to a much larger mystery. The biggest development comes near the end, when Sinestro enters the story and immediately raises new questions about what Hal was involved with before his death. That reveal gives the finale another major character to deal with while the central investigation still needs an answer. James Gunn has added to the anticipation himself, saying that even after seeing Lanterns hundreds of times, he is excited for viewers to see the finale. Homelander, Billy Butcher and Hughie Campbell form the central conflict at the heart of The Boys, even though their relationships with each other are very different. Butcher’s hatred of Homelander is deeply personal, turning his fight against superheroes into an obsession that influences nearly every decision he makes. Homelander sees Butcher as an unusually persistent enemy and gradually develops a strange respect for the fact that an ordinary human continues challenging him. Hughie enters the conflict with far less experience and initially follows Butcher because they share anger toward powerful Supes.
