With the beginning of the semester starting, the Undergraduate Student Government wanted to share the information that The University of Akron has published regarding the ICE Protocol for students, faculty, and staff that outlines how to interact with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other government agencies over the phone, through written correspondence, and on campus.

If you receive a call/letter/visit from the Department of Homeland Security, including ICE or another agency, or are stuck at the border and Customs and Border Protection have questions that a DSO needs to answer, please contact the International Center or UAPD for assistance.

For students with questions about DHS or ICE, The University of Akron’s International Center has meetings available for any questions or concerns students may have. Additional assistance and resources can be provided for various circumstances or emergencies.

Please feel free to stop by the USG Office, STU 307A, to pick up a physical card outlining the International Center Emergency Contact Information to keep on hand, whether you may be an international or domestic student at UA. by @usgua
