Mentally on cloud nine to be back in a class especially one taught by @matthewmsabino . The energy was amazing in the room and there were so many useful exercises practiced and the piece was a great push. Physically I don’t think my body will forgive me for throwing it straight into Matt’s class after three months of inactivity 😅.

I don’t know why I allow myself to fall into these mental trenches that make me feel like I don’t belong in a studio. I’m trying to not do that this fall/winter, so if anybody is trying to stay accountable with me, hit me up.

Really groovy piece with a lot of freedom to move in our own way.

“X” round 2. Actually able to make some intentional faces and dance while looking at myself in the mirror. Got some of the finer details. Lost some others tho 😭. More powerful overall though.

It was a whole fucking vibe dancing with this group/class tonight. Thankful for opportunities like this to step outside my comfort zone. My facial expressions definitely need some work, but I’m proud of the energy I put forth.

Feels so good to be back in the studio with these guys.

This R&B class has really helped me so much to be comfortable with my own body. There’s nothing but love and encouragement in this studio, and @thealejandrorey has been so helpful in helping, not just myself, but all of us find that “inner sexy” even when we think there’s none to find. Can’t thank you enough sir. Shoutout out to @thebeardedwolff for introducing me to this safe space.

I’m done doubting my ability to handle faster classes. It may not look as natural on me as I’d like, but that’s what I take other classes to work on. I love coming out of class breathing hard and feeling like I put it all out there. Now I gotta work on making the movements more comfortable and more detailed.

A nice groovy piece to kick off the week. I kinda stepped into dancing without ever learning the grooves or fundamentals so I am trying to give more attention to that.

I loved the energy of this class, everybody was having fun and committed to giving it their all.
———
The first twenty minutes I kept thinking oh I’m not ready for this class, but I just had to push that thought aside and keep practicing and get more comfortable with the piece.

I was not feeling this run at all while it was happening, hence me stopping early. #freestyle
——
But once I played it back I really enjoyed some of the pathways and movements, which took me by surprise.
