Story
Photo 1: A split second can change everything, highlighting the importance of every moment. A clock, with its intricate machinery where every cog, spring, and gear is vital, mirrors the human body. Each part of the body - heart, brain, lungs, limbs, and even cells - plays a crucial role, akin to the components of a clock. Every organ and cell works in harmony to keep the human machine functioning smoothly.

Photo 2: I used both natural light and artificial light for this project. I used a black background to create a more intimidating picture.

Photo 3: If a piece goes missing, the entire system is compromised. Just as a clock cannot function properly without all its parts, a human cannot thrive if one element is lost. A failing heart, a malfunctioning brain, or a lost limb can cripple the body, just as a missing cog renders a clock useless. The soul, like the clock’s energy source, is essential; without it, motivation and purpose diminish.

Photo 4: People can lose parts of themselves due to trauma, illness, or emotional strife, leading to profound effects similar to a broken gear within a clock. Depression and anxiety disrupt the human system, causing it to stutter and falter. When too many pieces are lost or damaged, the harmony breaks, and life’s tick-tock fades into silence. The story underscores the importance of every part, emphasizing that in life, every second and every piece matters profoundly. taken in Open Window by @ushi_artist

Project Theme: Your-topia

At the time I watched Peaky Blinders for the first time and got inspired by the series to make my own version of it through my eyes. The hand represents the power and then the 5 elements all represents the mafia. taken in Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool by @ushi_artist

School Art Project
Grade 11

For this project I experimented with bleach and fine liners. I started with the background using bleach like paint. It felt like a happy accident which turned into a very cool textured paper. Then I took a low angle shot of my mtb and traced it onto the paper. Lastly I finished it up with some nice line work. taken in Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool by @ushi_artist

For this project I drew 4 of my friends as a representation of my mentors. They were the people who inspired me to be creative and disciplined in school. taken in Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool by @ushi_artist
