We want so much for ourselves that sometimes, the process of getting there overwhelms us.

So we write it down.
We think about it.
We learn about it.
We plan some more.

And somehow, the idea never makes it out of our heads.

But you move further by taking one step.

Not because that one step gets you there, but because it gets you out of where you were.

Sometimes, we spend so much time preparing for what could go wrong that we forget to consider what could go right.

“What if I fail?”
“What if they say no?”
“What if it doesn’t work out?”

Fair questions.

But I think there’s another question we owe ourselves:

What if it does?

What if the attempt you’re scared to make becomes the one that changes something?

And if it doesn’t work the first time, perhaps that isn’t your cue to give up. Perhaps it’s your cue to learn, adjust, and give yourself another chance.

You don’t need a guarantee before you try.

You just need enough courage to find out.
