MORE THAN FOOTBALL: USVI MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM INSPIRES YOUNG STUDENTS AT JUANITA GARDINE SCHOOL Federation Donates New Soccer Goals and Signed National Team Jersey in Heartwarming Grassroots Initiative The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) continues to demonstrate that the impact of football extends far beyond the field, bringing inspiration, opportunity, and unforgettable memories to young students at Juanita Gardine Public School on St. Croix through a special grassroots development initiative. While on island competing in the 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations League, members of the U.S. Virgin Islands Men's National Team, affectionately known as the Dashing Eagles, took time away from their international football commitments to give back to the community by delivering and assembling brand-new soccer goals for the school. What began as a meaningful equipment donation quickly transformed into an unforgettable experience for the students. After assembling the goals, the national team players stepped onto the field alongside the children for a friendly scrimmage, sharing laughter, encouragement, and their passion for the beautiful game. The excitement was evident as students enjoyed the rare opportunity to play alongside athletes representing their own Territory on the international stage. The smiles, enthusiasm, and energy displayed by the children served as a powerful reminder of football's ability to unite communities and inspire the next generation. In addition to donating the soccer goals, the Federation presented Juanita Gardine Public School with a special U.S. Virgin Islands Men's National Team jersey, personally signed by the national team players. The commemorative jersey was gifted to the school to be proudly displayed in its administrative office, serving as a lasting symbol of the team's visit and a reminder to students that representing their Territory at the highest levels of football is a dream worth pursuing. For the Federation, the initiative represented more than providing sporting equipment. It was an opportunity to connect national team players with young Virgin Islanders. #usvisf #empowerthegame #inspirethenation #dashingeagles taken in Juanita F. Gardine Elementary School by @usvisf

As part of the weekend's activities, the USVI U15 Boys competed in two friendly scrimmage matches against the British Virgin Islands U15 Boys National Team. The matches provided valuable competitive experience, allowing the coaching staff to assess player development, tactical understanding, team chemistry, and overall readiness ahead of the international tournament. USVI Soccer Federation Appoints Macdonald Taylor Jr. as U15 Boys National Team Head Coach Ahead of Historic FIFA World Cup The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) is proud to announce the appointment of Macdonald Taylor Jr. as Head Coach of the U15 Boys National Team, as the young Dashing Eagles prepare to represent the Territory at the historic FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026, taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, later this month. A former U.S. Virgin Islands National Team player who represented the Territory from 2008 to 2022, Taylor brings a wealth of international playing experience, technical knowledge, and youth development expertise to his new role. His appointment marks an exciting homecoming for a former Dashing Eagle now entrusted with developing the next generation of national team talent. Taylor's football journey includes three years of NCAA collegiate soccer at Seton Hill University, followed by an extensive coaching career in Maryland. He previously served as Program Director and Head Coach at Montgomery Soccer Inc. and as Head Coach at Brit-Am Soccer Academy. Currently holding a U.S. Soccer B License, Taylor combines advanced coaching education with firsthand experience competing at the international level. As he prepares to guide the U15 Dashing Eagles into one of the most significant opportunities in the Territory's youth football history, Taylor is focused on building a squad defined by confidence, tactical discipline, and national pride. When asked about his vision for the team, Taylor emphasized the importance of preparing young players to believe in themselves on the international stage. "My vision is simple, I want these players to step onto the international stage believing they belong there. Confidence isn’t something we hope for; it’s something we build every day through preparation, discipline, and trust in one another," Taylor stated. His coaching philosophy centers on developing technically confident players who are courageous in possession, tactically organized, and relentless in their commitment to the team. #usvisf #empowerthegame #inspirethenation #usvisoccer #dashingeagles taken in U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation by @usvisf

USVI Soccer Federation Reinforces Commitment to Club Development at 2026 Concacaf Professional Football Development Seminar The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) continues to advance its commitment to strengthening domestic football structures and supporting the long-term development of its member clubs following the 2026 Concacaf Professional Football Development Seminar, held September 16–17, 2026, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The two-day seminar brought together representatives from Concacaf Member Associations to exchange knowledge, review professional football development strategies, and examine the regulatory and operational frameworks essential to building sustainable club and league structures throughout the region. The seminar provided comprehensive guidance on professional football matters, with particular emphasis on implementing Concacaf Club Licensing Regulations, establishing measurable development benchmarks, strengthening league operations, and utilizing technological resources to support effective administration. The knowledge and guidance shared during the seminar directly align with the Federation's ongoing efforts to strengthen its domestic football landscape and provide member clubs with the resources necessary for sustainable growth. Club licensing remains an important component of football development, establishing standards that encourage stronger governance, improved administration, financial accountability, and long-term organizational stability. For the USVISF, these discussions reinforce the importance of working collaboratively with affiliated clubs to improve operational practices, establish clear development pathways, and enhance the overall quality and competitiveness of domestic competitions. By incorporating regional best practices and aligning local development initiatives with Concacaf standards, the Federation aims to create an environment in which clubs are better equipped to grow, compete, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of football throughout the Territory. #usvisf #empowerthegame #inspirethenation #pressrelease taken in Dominican Republic by @usvisf

USVI Soccer Federation Strengthens Commitment to Referee Development at 2026 Concacaf Head of Refereeing Workshop The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening football officiating across the Territory following its participation in the 2026 Concacaf Head of Refereeing (HOR) Workshop, held on September 24, 2026, in Miami, Florida. Representing the Federation was Somere Webber, Head of Referees for the U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation, who joined refereeing leaders from Concacaf Member Associations to evaluate the Confederation's progress over the past five years, address ongoing challenges, and establish priorities for the future development of match officials throughout the region. The workshop emphasized the significant advancements achieved in refereeing across Concacaf and reinforced the responsibility of Member Associations to build sustainable domestic officiating programs. Particular attention was given to establishing effective development pathways that prepare referees to advance from grassroots and domestic competitions to regional and international appointments. The Federation's participation provided valuable insight into strategies and development initiatives that can support continued growth within the U.S. Virgin Islands refereeing program. While progress has been achieved locally, the workshop reinforced the importance of prioritizing referee recruitment and retention, increasing female participation in officiating, implementing consistent fitness and education programs, and creating opportunities for promising officials to gain regional experience through Concacaf seminars and development initiatives. The USVISF recognizes that qualified, confident, and well-prepared referees are essential to the continued growth of football at every level. By applying the knowledge and best practices shared during the workshop, the Federation aims to strengthen its domestic officiating structure while developing clear pathways for Virgin Islands referees to pursue opportunities on the international stage. #usvisf #empowerthegame #inspirethenation #usvisoccer taken in Miami, Florida by @usvisf

USVISF INSIDE THE CREST The Dashing Eagles’ Nations League Run Has the U.S. Virgin Islands Dreaming There are moments in sports when a scoreboard tells only part of the story. Then there are moments when an entire community begins to believe. For the U.S. Virgin Islands Men’s National Team, the 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League campaign at the Bethlehem Soccer Complex became something larger than four football matches. It became a statement about how far a program has come, how quickly expectations can change, and what can happen when an underdog finally begins to believe it belongs. The numbers are simple: four matches, three victories, nine points. But what happened in St. Croix felt much bigger. The Dashing Eagles swept the Bahamas, stunned Saint Martin, filled Bethlehem with increasingly passionate home support and entered the final day of League C group play with something that once might have seemed distant: A legitimate opportunity to earn promotion to League B. As of the morning of October 6, the U.S. Virgin Islands sits atop Group C with nine points from four matches. Saint Martin has six points from three matches and faces the Bahamas in the final Group C match later in the day. Concacaf's rules send all three League C group winners, along with the best second-place team, to the new League C Championship and promote those four nations to League B. So the waiting continues. But regardless of what happens next, something unmistakable has already happened in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Dashing Eagles have changed the conversation. #usvisf #empowerthegame #inspirethenation #dashingeagles #usvisoccer taken in U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation by @usvisf
