ATTENTION VIRGIN ISLANDERS — WE WANT YOU!

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation is calling on passionate community members who are ready to help support the continued growth of women’s and girls’ soccer across the Virgin Islands.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to become part of the organizing committee and contribute their time, ideas, experience, and energy toward building a strong and successful initiative for female football in the territory.

Volunteers can assist with planning, coordination, community engagement, event organization, outreach, and other areas that will help bring this vision to life.

Whether you are involved in soccer already or simply believe in creating more opportunities for women and girls in sport, we want to hear from you.

📍 Volunteers are encouraged to join us from BOTH districts — St. Croix and St. Thomas-St. John.

Together, we can create stronger pathways, greater opportunities, and an environment where the next generation of female footballers can thrive.

📩 Interested in getting involved? Contact the USVI Soccer Federation to learn how you can become part of the organizing committee.

Belief Changed Everything: USVI U15 Lady Dashing Eagles Soar to Third Place at Inaugural Goombay Invitational Cup

Championships aren't always measured by trophies. Sometimes they're measured by resilience, growth, and the moment a team discovers exactly who they are.

For the U.S. Virgin Islands U15 Lady Dashing Eagles, the inaugural 2026 Girls Goombay Invitational Cup, hosted by the Bahamas Football Association in Nassau, became more than just another international tournament. It became the stage where one of the Caribbean's rising young national teams announced its arrival.

The journey wasn't easy from the very beginning.

Before a ball was even kicked, the squad battled unexpected airline travel complications that threatened to derail preparations. Instead of allowing adversity to define them, Head Coach Mackiesh Taylor-Jones and her staff challenged their players to remain focused on the task ahead.

That resilience quickly became the identity of this young USVI squad.

The Lady Dashing Eagles opened tournament play with consecutive draws against Bermuda and Turks and Caicos, earning valuable points while showcasing a team unwilling to back down. Every challenge was met with determination, every setback answered with another push forward.

Their third match proved to be perhaps the tournament's biggest lesson.

Against the Cayman Islands, the USVI battled throughout 50 hard-fought minutes but fell just short in a narrow 1-0 defeat, their only loss of the competition.

Rather than dwelling on the result, Coach Taylor-Jones and her coaching staff gathered the team afterward for a message that would ultimately define the tournament.

Believe in yourselves.
Trust your abilities.
Play with confidence.

Those words would become the turning point.
While the podium finish is certainly worth celebrating, the numbers only tell part of the story.

The Lady Dashing Eagles completed the tournament with:

Third Place Finish
Only One Loss (1-0 to Cayman Islands)
A Dominant 7-0 Victory
A 2-0 Win over Host Nation Bahamas
Brailey Brudy Named USVI Team MVP
Team scored most goals in the cup

USVI U-15 Girls National Team Camp Concludes Successfully, Showcasing the Future of Virgin Islands Football

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) proudly concluded a highly successful U-15 Girls National Team Camp, bringing together one of the strongest and deepest pools of young female talent the Federation has assembled to date.

Participants were pre-selected for camp based on comprehensive evaluations conducted by the coaching staff throughout the year. These assessments included performances at previous national team camps, club and school competitions, FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) training sessions, and each player's demonstrated growth, commitment, and overall development.

While the camp featured a demanding schedule of training sessions and competitive match play, its mission extended well beyond football.

Held during the Virgin Islands' Emancipation Day celebrations, players were immersed in the rich history and culture of the territory. The team visited historic Fort Christiansvaern, explored the streets of Christiansted, learned about the significance of Emancipation Day, and participated in activities designed to strengthen friendships, build trust, and develop the team culture that defines the Virgin Islands National Team program.

On the field, the standard of training, competition, and commitment exceeded expectations. Throughout the camp, players were individually evaluated as they competed for the opportunity to represent the U.S. Virgin Islands at the upcoming Goombay Cup in The Bahamas.
