We wrapped the first AdultSing session last night by visiting Dogwood Dell and singing through the songs we’ve learned.

We were so grateful to have the amazing Leslie Dripps from @citysingerschoir with us.

THIS SATURDAY Kids Song Circle 🌺

✨ Come sing in community, families! No prior singing or musical experience required. All voices welcome, and all ages!

We will begin with some call and response, sing some short, simple songs (maybe even nursery rhymes), and use hand instruments with our voices. We will be providing a variety of hand instruments for use, but if you would like to bring your favorite instrument with you to play along, please do.

🎁 Out of the Box Storytime 🎁

This Sunday we’re back at @quarryrva for an Out of the Box Storytime!

What do you do with a box? What can you make with a squiggle? When everyone tells you to stay within the lines, how do you find your own way of doing things? We’re reading Linus by Stuart Haussmann and talking about supporting individual expression. Come draw, move and explore how we share our ideas in unique ways.

All ages welcome, focused on children 3-6. Storytime includes skill sharing with parents and activity for practice.

We’re partnering with @citysingerschoir to offer AdultSing, an inclusive space for developing your voice and meeting new people.

💐AdultSing is a mash up of a music class, a song circle and a musical hang out for people who love to sing and want to connect with others who love to sing as well.

🦋 Sessions are Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00 starting April 2 and ending May 21 with a sharing for friends and family.

✨ Sessions take place at 1211 Porter in Richmond.

🌻 We’re stoked to get together with all you lovelies and make some music!

Our Director of Programming was at the Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children presenting ideas about how to create more inclusive spaces for queer kids and queer families.

Queer people are often seen as a threat to children, but we know that being queer is an asset to our work. We meet children with an openness that reinforces their autonomy and the unique person they are at every stage. The queer journey expands what is possible and gives space for growth.

Thanks to VAEYC for having us out. Amazing group of people working tirelessly for the wellbeing of young children and their teachers.

🎊 We had a blast last night sharing songs, stories, puppets and even a little harmonica. We did coloring sheets and ate pizza and we warmed our hearts on a cold night.
