We took over Hillsborough Community College for the Ybor Arts Tour, and DAN 269: Dance Improvisation showed up and showed out! 🙌🏼

Every moment was made on the spot, and it only worked because we trust each other and move as one. So proud of our dancers ❤️

Recapping our time at the National Dance Education Organization @ndeodance conference! 💃 Swipe to see what our faculty and students shared. ➡️

Highlights from our weekend at NDEO:

✨ Prof. Susannah LeMarquand presented "Commercial Dance Through a Somatic Lens"
✨ Sam Walker shared her student research
✨ Prof. Amanda Gabaldon led a demonstration for Creative Dance Center Director Terry Goetz

Prof. Susannah LeMarquand presented "Commercial Dance Through a Somatic Lens," a session on using components of brain-compatible dance education, along with a stronger connection to Laban concepts and effort qualities and Bartenieff fundamentals, to create an embodied understanding of commercial movement. She is currently applying this concept in her musical theatre dance classes. 🙌🏼

Prof. Amanda Gabaldon demonstrated for Creative Dance Center Director Terry Goetz's "Ballet & Brain Dance Presentation," which shared strategies for using brain-compatibility and creativity in barre and center exercises @creativedancecenterseattle 👏🏼

Sam Walker presented her Dance & Disability research, "Reimagining Inclusion Through Mentorship," 🎉 What a special opportunity to share this work on a national stage.

Thank you to the University of Tampa's 2025 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship for making this work possible! taken in New Mexico, USA by @utampadance
