As the semester comes to an end, we want to take some time to reflect on just a few of the amazing events that Comm Council hosted this semester.

Looking back to March, our policy committee hosted “Voting Voices,” with guest speakers José “Chito” Vela and Zohaib “Zo” Qardi. Policy members were tasked with creating questions and initiating conversation.

As a result of Voting Voices, Communication Council received the 2026 Civic Champions Award from Texas Votes! Way to go Comm Council! 🗳️🩵

This week, the Tejas Club and Communications Council are excited to host Jordan Levin for coffee!

Jordan Levin is an Emmy Award-winning producer, director, and digital entrepreneur who became the youngest CEO in broadcast television history at 35, having spent a decade at The WB as a founding executive where he greenlit Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson’s Creek, Gilmore Girls, and Smallville. He went on to found the digital studio Generate, serve as Chief Content Officer of the NFL, CEO of AwesomenessTV — where he produced the breakout Netflix hit To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before — and General Manager of Rooster Teeth, before returning to his alma mater as a Professor of Practice at UT Austin’s Moody College of Communication.

Why CC Wednesday!!

For our second Why CC of the semester we have Riley Stewart. Riley is a first year and joined comm council last semester! She is a part of the Student Issues and Advisory Committee this semester, as well as last semester.

Come join us next Tuesday for Town Hall!

This is the biannual SIAC Town Hall event from 6-7 pm on Tuesday, April 7th. SIAC Committee will be presenting the results and findings from the Moody Student Experiences Survey, as well as presenting potential future Communication Council project ideas.

Department heads and deans are invited to participate in a question and answer period from students.
