Celebrating Distinguished Alumna Deb Dauer!

This Homecoming, we’re proud to recognize Deb Dauer, a UToledo College of Engineering graduate and longtime champion of the Rocket engineering community.

During her 37-year career with Owens Corning, Deb became the company’s first female plant leader in its Residential Roofing Division. Under her leadership, the Denver Roofing Plant earned Plant of the Year honors and became the first manufacturing plant to win the Owens Corning Board of Directors Cup.

Today, Deb continues to make an impact through her leadership of the Engineering Alumni Affiliate, service to UToledo and support of future women engineers through a scholarship she established.

Congratulations, Deb, and thank you for showing what it means to be a Rocket! by @utoledoeng

POV: You just became a Rocket Engineer. New campus. New friends. New challenges. And a whole lot of possibilities ahead.

Friday, we welcomed our newest freshman class at New Student Convocation and we’re already excited to see what they’ll build, discover and accomplish.

Summer camp may be over, but the memories (and future engineers) are here to stay. 💙💛

Thanks to everyone who helped welcome campers to the College of Engineering this summer. Whether you volunteered, shared your space or said hello, you helped inspire the next generation of Rockets.

We can't wait to see where their curiosity takes them. 🚀 by @utoledoeng

Last Fall, a dust collection system was installed in our university’s Makerspace.

After using it for the past several months, we’ve identified some ways to improve its performance. This summer, Austin and I have been tasked with redesigning and rebuilding the system into something that’s much more functional for the space.

Looking forward to sharing the entire process - stay tuned! by @utoledoeng

Summer co-op spotlight: Nathan Zickes

Nathan traded Toledo for Fort Smith, Arkansas, this summer to work with Owens Corning, where he's helping reduce manufacturing waste, improve recycling efforts and learn what it takes to keep a major production facility running.

From sustainability projects to multimillion-dollar equipment upgrades, he's getting a firsthand look at engineering in action.

"It's been interesting to see how every part of the process impacts the larger operation." by @utoledoeng
