Join us November 12 at 7:30 PM at the Coates Chapel on the UT San Antonio Southwest Campus for Liederabend: Songs of Evening, Twilight, and Night. Join soprano Danielle Talamantes, bass-baritone Kerry Wilkerson, and collaborative pianist Tracy Cowden for Liederabend: Songs of Evening, Twilight, and Night, an evocative exploration of the beauty, mystery, and emotional depth of German art song. Featuring exquisite settings of German poetry by 19th-century composers including Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Felix Mendelssohn, this thoughtfully curated program invites audiences on an emotional journey through the shifting landscapes of evening, twilight, and night. Designed as a multi-sensory, immersive experience, the performance weaves together live music, evocative imagery, projected poetry and translations, and spoken narration to illuminate the profound connections between words and music. From the serenity of dusk and the longing of unrequited love to the mystery of darkness and the promise of spiritual renewal, Liederabend invites listeners to experience the timeless power of poetry and song in a deeply personal and meaningful way. by @utsamusic
