🎤 Panel Spotlight: The NWSL as a Case Study: Building the Future of Women's Sports

What can the NWSL teach us about building and investing in the future of women's sports?

Join Jeff Agoos, President & General Manager of Portland Thorns FC; Lori Lindsey, MLS & NWSL Analyst and former U.S. Women's National Team player; and Emily Sonnett, Gotham FC Defender and U.S. Women's National Team veteran, for a conversation spanning the front office, the broadcast booth, and the pitch.

Together, they bring perspectives from across the game—from building competitive and sustainable clubs, to growing audiences and telling the story of women's soccer, to the athlete experience at the highest level.

As the NWSL continues to see record growth in attendance, fan engagement, media, and investment, this conversation, moderated by Cecil White III, Senior Agent & Executive, Strategic Partnerships & Ventures, WME Basketball, will explore what's working, what's next, and what the league's evolution can teach us about the broader business of women's sports.

Finance research, fresh perspectives, and a little live music to close out the day.

Last Friday, McIntire and our Center for Investors and Financial Markets (CIFM) welcomed scholars from across Virginia for the 2026 Blue Ridge Finance Workshop. Faculty from McIntire, UVA Darden, George Mason University, and Virginia Tech came together to share new research, ask questions, and exchange ideas.

After the final session, the conversation moved to the patio at Mockingbird, with beautiful Charlottesville weather and live music from a band featuring McIntire's own Chris Yung.

Thanks to everyone who shared their work and perspectives—and to Michael Gallmeyer, Chris Yung, and Amanda Morris for bringing the day together. Blue Ridge Finance Workshop - Group Pic on The Lawn at UVA by @uvamcintire
