The Alpha Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was originally chartered on June 9, 1923, at Marquette University. However, on an ice-cold Sunday—December 31, 1939—nine courageous men came together to recharter the chapter at the University of Washington, laying the foundation for a lasting legacy of excellence in the Pacific Northwest.

Today, we proudly celebrate 86 years of service, brotherhood, and leadership. Alpha Xi stands as the oldest chapter in the Pacific Northwest and the third oldest chapter chartered in the Alpha Western Region, a testament to our unwavering commitment to Leadership, Academic Excellence, Service, Brotherhood, and Love for All Mankind.

As we honor our history and the brothers who came before us, we remain steadfast in our mission to uplift our communities and uphold the high standards established by our founders.

Happy 86th Charter Day to the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Alpha Xi Chapter.

The Alpha Xi chapter is proud to congratulate Bro. Jackson Hamilton, (ΑΞ | SP ’23 | #3), on earning his degree in Real Estate with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Within Alpha, Bro. Hamilton served numerous roles, thought notably as Chapter President during the 2024–2025 academic year, leading Alpha Xi through one of its most successful years in recent history. Under his leadership, the chapter earned every Great Northwest District Chapter Award and was home to the Great Northwest District Miss Black and Gold. Throughout his time in the fraternity, he remained committed to strengthening brotherhood, scholarship, service, and Alpha Xi’s presence on campus.

Outside of Alpha, Bro. Hamilton served as Director of the ASUW Black Student Commission, Parliamentarian for the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Head of Committee for Brothers in Color (BIC), and as a Student Leadership Team member for the Brotherhood Initiative. He also completed both the Foster Sales Program and the Foster Building Networks Program. In working with the broader Seattle community he spent time as a mentor with Rainier Athletes, helping expand opportunities for underserved youth.

After graduation, Bro. Hamilton will begin his career as an Account Manager in the sales world, where he will continue building relationships and creating opportunities for others.

We are grateful for the leadership, service, and dedication Bro. Hamilton has given to Alpha Xi and look forward to seeing the impact he makes throughout his future endeavors.

The Alpha Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is incredibly blessed to reflect on an unforgettable 2025–2026 fraternal year. This year was defined by service, scholarship, leadership, and brotherhood, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a lasting impact on both the University of Washington and the greater Seattle community.

We are honored to have been recognized as the Great Northwest District Undergraduate Chapter of the Year, Great Northwest District Chapter with the Highest GPA, and recipients of the Charles H. Wesley Award alongside our alumni brothers of Zeta Pi Lambda. We were also proud to receive the University of Washington Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center Commitment to Community and Service Award, recognizing our dedication to serving both our campus and our community.

Throughout the year, we successfully completed all of Alpha Phi Alpha’s National Programs while hosting impactful events including tailgates, voter registration initiatives, Barbershop Talks, basketball tournaments, 2K tournaments, the Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant, and many more. We also remained committed to service by volunteering at least twice each quarter, strengthening our commitment to uplifting the communities we serve.

To every brother, alumnus, campus partner, supporter, and community member who contributed to our success thank you. This year was one of growth, excellence, and impact. As we reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together, we remain committed to building on this legacy and continuing to serve with purpose.

When I tell you Alpha puts you in positions to learn, lead and let go. Here’s a good example of that. @ema.tes2 @_calengarrett @momarmbowe_ @navonmorgan these Brothers started at UW entering the House of Alpha through Alpha Xi (@uwalphas) to see the bounds these Brothers created is amazing. Last week they were at USC where one graduated with his JD and this week at Cornell where another graduated with a Master’s degree. I couldn’t be more proud of these Brothers as my time as an Alpha Advisor to a college chapter. taken in Cornell University by @uwalphas
