Last night, we joined over 1,000 people in Glasgow for Reclaim the Night, standing together against gender-based violence and calling for better support for women and girls.

We’re proud to have added our voice to the demonstration, organised by @sistersagainstcuts , and to stand alongside those demanding change, safety and freedom for all women.

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day 💚 To mark the occasion, we hosted some amazing events across our UWS campuses yesterday.

Looking after your mental and emotional wellbeing is so important. Whether you want to talk things through in a confidential Wellbeing Appointment, make use of your free gym membership, pick up a self-help book from the UWS Library, or join our Thursday mindfulness classes at the Lanarkshire campus, we are here to support you.

Students: find out more about the support available by clicking this post in our bio (login required).

Police Scotland have declared violence against women and girls a national emergency.

We’re joining the Reclaim The Night demonstration on Monday organised by @sistersagainstcuts to add our voice and we want you to join us.

We’ll be meeting from 4pm at the Students’ Union to create protest placards together (we’ll provide snacks) and then leaving the Union at 5pm to arrive for at Buchanan Galleries in good time for the protest to begin at 6pm.

We’d love for as many students as possible to join us on Monday and make it clear that we don’t stand for gender-based violence.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about attending this event.
