Before we take our final bow, we’d like to share our very first walk. Three years ago I brought Uye Surana to NYFW. This is the runway show that built community and a sense of belonging. It was a beautiful moment that came from the heart. Were you there for this moment? 👀 #UyeSurana #runwayshow #nyfw #fashiondesigners by @uyesurana
We asked you to collab, and you delivered 😍 We cherish our community the most and truly enjoy seeing Uye (aka YOU) enjoy what we’ve built. We’re going quiet for a moment after the shop closes September 30th, so tag us in your Uye Surana now, so we can see. You may still be featured and either way because we LOVE to see Uye 💕 by @uyesurana
Ending this chapter, to leave room for another direction. After 14 years, I’m stepping back from running Uye Surana as you know it — and moving towards what motivated me to start it in the first place. No new collections are coming. The daily grind of running a brand replaced the freedom that once was. And the logistics of continuing this business come at the expense of my creative joy. What we built together means everything to me. This community where every body is seen & valued for who they are, not their willingness to conform – that still exists. After this chapter closes, I’ll return when I’m ready — with a fresh creative direction and a different way of working. What it may look like remains to be seen. But it won’t be this. Thank you for wearing & sharing my work, and making this community what it is. I love Uye (aka you). 🌸 Monica by @uyesurana

And just like that the last matching sets, garters, stockings & handmade bralettes (that I may have just put the finishing touches on 🫣) arrived. Save up to 75% on one-of-kind & samples – once they’re gone, there won’t be anything else like them. #UyeSurana #indiefashion #womanownedsmallbusiness by @uyesurana
POV you’re about to become a very slow fashion brand Til then, I’ve added to my archive sale. From one-of-a-kind samples & matching sets to handmade bralettes that I just put the finishing touches on – once they’re gone, there won’t be anything else like them. 🍓 #uyesurana #slowfashion by @uyesurana
