POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
There are rooms where founders speak about the business, and rare rooms where they can finally speak about themselves.

The first edition of The Founder Room by EandC Legal was the latter.

We spoke about the pressure behind the performance, the loneliness of difficult decisions and the cost of constantly pushing through.

Because strong businesses cannot be built indefinitely by broken people. The founder matters too.

To every founder who trusted the room, and every expert who helped us hold it with care, thank you. taken in Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria by @uyilaw

Founders carry more than most people see and often carry it alone.

The Founder Room by EandC Legal is a private space for honest conversations about the business and the person behind it.

No speeches. No pitches. Just founders sharing experiences and gaining perspective from people who understand what it means to build.

What do wealthy people understand about risk that others don’t?

They don’t avoid risk.
They calculate it.

Risk is relative. So is the reward.

Even in the ’80s, our Founders would have been the cool kids on the block. 😎

Some people say that God has already chosen those He will bless.

But how do you know you are one of them if you never try?

You don’t get to discover your potential from the sidelines. Take the shot. Build the thing. Make the move. That's how you will get there.

If the mountain won’t come to Muhammad, Muhammad must go to the mountain.

That’s startup life.

The market won’t always move for you. Sometimes, you have to move.

Real stories. Real founders. Real lessons from the journey.

Follow @InsideHowWeGotHere because there’s always a story behind how we got here.

A good conversation is one that leaves you with more questions, and a clearer sense of what needs to be done.

That was the spirit of the Commissioners’ Roundtable on Digital Transformation and Innovation, hosted by the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology at GITEX 2026.

We brought together Commissioners and stakeholders to share experiences, confront some of the realities of driving technology and innovation at the State level, and explore where collaboration can make a real difference.

There was a lot to learn from the different perspectives in the room.

Now, the important part is taking those conversations forward.

Uber is leaving Nigeria. Government, businesses, drivers, consumers, we all have a part to play.

But the conversation needs to go deeper.
Regulation, infrastructure, inflation and the cost of doing business matter. So do purchasing power, unit economics, customer behaviour and incentives.

Did the Nigerian market still justify the next dollar of investment?
And ultimately:
Are we building a market where the next Uber has a reason to stay?

Let the song playing help us find the answer. Maybe it already tells us what we need to know. taken in Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria by @uyilaw

Akònúché was the energy at the start of the year. We cut our coats oversize and went for it.

Only thing? Oversize coats come with more work.

More matters. More deadlines. More late nights. More “please see attached.”

But we move.

By the way, who said Gen Zs don’t know how to get the job done?

They do. If you can sell the vision. Proud of my team and the work we do at @eandclegal

We told them they were going to work this vacation.

They thought we were joking. We weren’t.

So off they went to @whitetreelagos to experience what it means to actually work for your money, welcoming guests, serving tables, tending the bar and even getting into the kitchen.

They worked. They got paid. They had fun. And somewhere in between, they learnt about responsibility, teamwork, service and the value of money earned.

Huge thank you to Whitreee Bistro, Glover Road, Ikoyi, for being such wonderful hosts and giving the kids such a warm welcome.

Sometimes, the best lessons aren’t the ones we teach. They are the ones we let them experience.

Would you try this with your kids? taken in Glover Road, Ikoyi, Lagos by @uyilaw

One piece of advice I always give the team at @eandclegal:

We can modernise how we work. We can move faster. We can use better tools.

But there is one thing I will never allow us to lose: the ability to think deeply, understand context, and exercise sound judgment.

Because speed is useful.

But judgment is what makes the difference.

Modernise. But never stop thinking.
