Start here.

AME Leisure Club is not something you join for access alone, it’s a space you enter to experience life differently.

It exists for those who want more from their leisure. More intention, more depth, more connection, without the friction of planning or the pressure of performative spaces.

So what actually happens here?

We curate experiences across wellness, culture, conversation and play. Pilates and brunch, chess and slow evenings, dining, movement, creative sessions, and moments that allow you to explore different sides of yourself in the right environment.

Who is it for?

Typically those in their mid 20s to early 40s, across industries, who value how they spend their time and who they spend it with. Open to both ladies and gentlemen.

Do I need to know people?

Not at all. Most people come alone. Strangers become familiar faces, then associates, and often friends. The environment does the work.

How do you join?

We operate on an application basis to keep the experience considered and aligned.

Once accepted, you’ll receive access to upcoming experiences and can join what resonates with you.

This isn’t about being everywhere.
It’s about being in the right places, with the right people.

If that resonates, apply below.

I nearly left the cooking class off the itinerary.

Partly because I don’t particularly enjoy cooking, and partly because I kept thinking: women cook enough already. If we’re travelling to switch off, why am I putting everyone back in a kitchen?

Then we arrived at Nonna’s.

Her home sits within a vineyard in a small Sardinian village, and almost immediately the experience felt completely different from what I had imagined.

There were no cars going past. No background noise from screens or machines. Just breeze, open space, vines, lunch being prepared and a kind of stillness you notice because there’s so little competing for your attention.

Nothing felt overly designed either. It was beautiful because everything simply seemed to belong where it was.

And strangely, the village reminded me of home.

Different country, different landscape, but that same feeling I recognise from being back in the village: space, quiet, food made slowly, people close to the land, and life temporarily operating at a different pace.

We went there to learn how to make lorighittas and cajione.

But the thing I took away had very little to do with pasta.

The best experiences aren’t always the ones that look the most impressive on an itinerary. Sometimes they’re the ones that change the pace of the day completely — and leave you feeling something you didn’t know you needed.

One thing travelling has taught me is how to confidently ask for what I want.

Growing up, I was always conscious of being “too specific” or “too demanding”. So sometimes it felt easier to accept what was given than to say, actually, this isn’t quite right for me.

Travel changed that.

Hotels, restaurants, drivers, hosts — being in environments where people are literally there to understand what you need and help solve it made me realise that being accommodated often starts with being able to articulate what you want.

The other day, I was explaining to someone why I don’t usually like red wine. Instead of just accepting that I “don’t like red wine”, he listened to everything I disliked about it and came back with something completely different.

And I loved it.

Apparently the problem wasn’t that I hated red wine. I just hadn’t been specific enough about what I actually enjoyed.

There’s something quite freeing about learning that saying “I don’t like this”, “I’d prefer that”, or “this is what works for me” doesn’t automatically make you difficult.

Sometimes, it simply gives people the information they need to accommodate you properly.

And travelling has made me much more comfortable doing exactly that.

What if the real missed opportunity in Africa is not what we lack, but what we keep undervaluing?

One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of what we overlook across Africa, other countries have learnt how to monetise.

We tend to focus on the big problems, but there’s so much value in the smaller things we already have. Food, raw materials, crafts, local products, even things we see as completely ordinary.

At a few trade shows recently, I saw African products and raw materials being sold for a fraction of what the finished version would sell for in global markets.

Sometimes the difference is simply branding, packaging and positioning.

That’s a huge opportunity. Not everything needs to be reinvented. Sometimes we need to take what already exists, finish it properly and make it ready to compete globally.

What’s something from your country that you think the rest of the world is sleeping on?
