Chikaunigwe’s The middle daughter had me in my feelings. I’ve always enjoyed Chika’s writing style. I started out crying when Udodi died then Doda followed suit 🥺then Nani’s stupidity ended up truncating her destiny. It’s a lot honestly🤦🏽‍♀️ ✍️ One thing that has stayed true is this, never trust the loyalty of a poor man & you see people that are too religious, they are the worst 🤐 📖 All in all a great book.I smiled when my hometown Obosi was referenced & I really liked when Nani fought Ephraim back & I was satisfied with the ending. Definitely a ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📚 #chikaunigwe #themiddledaughter #africanauthor #africanliterature #goodreads by @uzzyreads
I sincerely think #everobi needs to say 50 Hail Marys for writing this book because what the??? 🤦🏽‍♀️ I don’t think this author is okay o 😂something is inherently wrong because why is this book such a serious mind fuck! If people aren’t dying, it’s casual sex and incest. ✍️ All in all this was a great read, I honestly hadn’t heard or come across this book until my brother recommended it. 📚 Overall a great read, I’ll rate it a 3.2/5 #everobi #someangelsdontseegod #someangelsdontseegodbyeverobi by @uzzyreads
Hello March 🥰 by @uzzyreads
I guess it’s not too late to wish you all a prosperous 2026!💃🏾🥰 What are your reading goals for this year? Mine is simple, I have a goal to read just 12 books 📚 as a mama of littles, it’s a struggle to find time to read, I’m constantly being pulled here and there however I wouldn’t trade my busy life for anything! I’m forever grateful for the grace to be called MOTHER 🥰 💋 Tell me in the comments what your hopes and aspirations for 2026 are. Wishing you all joy and continued success. by @uzzyreads
For another year of life, good health, sound mind, love, laughter and wealth, I say thank you to my maker Jehovah El-Emunah-the faithful God who loads me daily with His benefits, forgives my sins, saves me, delivers me completely, neither sleeps nor slumbers, the covenant keeper, the one who doesn’t allow my foot to be moved, Oyigiyigi, Aladewura, Oba te re ka ri aye, Oba ti ti aye, I say Thank you Lord Jesus for all you have done. 🥳🎈🎊 #birthdaygirl #October20 #october20girl #blessed #thankful #healthy by @uzzyreads
Foluso Agbaje’s The Parlour Wife is an absolutely brilliant read. The story introduces us to the Ilesanmi family which consists of Fola Ilesanmi-a fisherman, his wife and twin children. The book revolves around Kehinde (keke) who is betrothed to an older, influential man Mr Ogunjobi because of the impending war, Mr Ogunjobi is happy with the arrangement of a “beautiful flower” Keke’s dreams of being a writer for the West African Pilot ends abruptly. Keke who has always been agreeable decides to forge her own path that leaves many stunned. This was an interlibrary loan and was worth all the stress. Overall a 5/5 star rating. Foluso has all my respect for this one, i literally couldnt put it down! I kept anticipating what was going to happen. When Mr. Ogunjobi took Keke to his Babalawo when she didn’t conceive i kept wondering,”is this another case of “Baba Segi in the Secret lives of Baba Segi’s wives” or will what happened to “Ogadinma” happen to her. Whew! What a book! Would totally recommend. #Theparlourwife #FolusoAgbaje #Africanauthour #Africanliterature #Nigerianauthor #amustread by @uzzyreads
Peace Adzo Media’s His only wife is a captivating story of Afi who comes from a poor background in Ho, Ghana. Her father passing brings a benefactor into their lives who later proposes Afi marries her son Elikem because she cannot stand Elikem’s choice of Muna, a Liberian woman who fails to dance to her tune, unbeknownst to them as the story unfolds. The story intrigued me from the first chapter! 🇬🇭 Afi’s character annoyed me in the beginning! I couldn’t understand her hate for Muna I mean she was already married to Eli before she decided to marry him and now wanted him to herself! Like really?! 🥂 And what did I read on the last page? She married Richard! Like really?! Richard! Eli’s brother someone please tell me I’m confused because what kind of crazy twist is that?! 😯 📚 Interesting read if you ask me ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ #hisonlywife #ghanianauthor #peaceadzomedie #africanliterature #westafricanauthors #anovel by @uzzyreads
I got mail! 📨 ✉️ When @lipglossmaffia posted a snippet of @nnamdi.ehirim #thebrevityofbeautifulthings I knew I had to get my hands on a copy. You see, The Ehirim family & my family come a long way. Our mothers attended the same secondary, we grew up in the same estate, worshipped in the same church and my siblings and his siblings went to uni together so you see why I had to show support and go all out to get a copy😊 📖 Amazon didn’t have it available so I reached out to his sister and she made it happen. After crossing the Atlantic Ocean 😆🤣 my books are finally in my hands 🙌🏽 can’t wait to dig in! 🐒🦍🦧 #thebrevityofbeautifulthings #princeofmonkeys #africanliterature #nnamdiehirim #africanauthors #nigerianauthor by @uzzyreads
