aaaa truly grateful for this article by @zuerich.24
what a FULL CIRCLE, being born & growing up in Zurich AND then starting the journey of my dream pursuit in this place as well!🥹

it’s actually quite bitter or sweet?
since I was a child, I always knew what I wanted to do with this life I’ve been given, but then the older I was getting,
all these „it’s impossible“, „stay dreaming“, „you can never make it“, „you’re not in the right place“, „well u aren’t in LA so your chances are zero“ truly took a toll on me.
What a life is that?
A life where I can’t fully express my soul’s deepest desires? F THAT!!!

So yeah, my KV apprenticeship was the catalyst…🫠
I couldn’t bear dying in the office until I’m old.
I knew I had to finish it (for my parents), but I knew something more important: it’s now or never.

Going on this soul journey,
(which for me, acting & film lights me up the most),
which was (still very much is) scary, unknown,
I discovered for the first time, „DAMN, hold on a sec, it actually is possible? I can start wherever I am? I don’t have to wait for the perfect moment?“ damn damn damn….

So THANK YOU, Zurich (as if it’s a person, but ykwim), for teaching me this lesson! (& my parents for deciding to raise us here haha?)

For letting me experiment, LEARN & meet so many
amazing passionate people over here!

Ofc the aim is to be international, but back then I would’ve said „wow, I’m so unlucky, I’ve already failed, why try, I’m not in the right place, blablablabla.“
BUT YK WHAT?!
YES, we all get given different playing cards, which can be ofc unfair, BUT let’s do the best with what we‘ve been given.

So I’m truly proud that ULTIMATELY I’ve found my gratitude for ZURICH and where the UNKNOWN is taking me! (:

Sooo if I could talk to lil Leyla, (like @starlynfilm LOL!)
I’d say, „you’re exactly where you have to be.
Which in my case is Zurich.

keep being curious about the unknown
& ultimately keep shining!🌟

yours truly,
leyla

Behind the scenes of ‘Between Skins’ 2026 🎬
I loved working on this film. Its ideas, representation, and surrealist approach were both inspiring and emotionally evocative. It was a joy to be part of such a thoughtful and creative project.

Produced and directed by @lovethagule & @holtproductions.
