I’ve been chipping away at my tbr slowly but surely, and fully plan to do some more reading while hanging by the pool this weekend!!

I love a good purple cover so this was at the top of my flatlay list of ideas lol 💜 I hope everyone has an amazing weekend, sending love always!! 😙

ᴀᴜᴛʜᴏʀ ꜱᴘᴏᴛʟɪɢʜᴛ ꜱᴜɴᴅᴀʏ 🖤

with all the exciting news surrounding the cat & mouse duet, I figured it was the perfect time to put together a little appreciation stack for this sunday!! ✨

H.D. is 1000% the reason I am a dark romance girly. her duet was my introduction to dark romance, and I truly wouldn’t have done it any differently. I still need to add a few more physical copies of hers to my shelves, but her books will alwaysss have a home on them 🥹

✍︎ what was your very first dark romance?!

✰✰✰✰

what did i just read… and more than that, WHOOO was i just introduced to?!? 😭

i am disturbed just as equally as i am interested… there were so many parts throughout this one where i was like “OH. okay let’s pause for a sec” but then carry on reading anyhow because it is THAT good. i didn’t want to miss a single thing and had so many questions getting into this one - questions that somehow just kept multiplying the more i read lol.

i fear a dark, twisted, creepy circus theme is going to do it for me everyyy time. and the Knucklbone brothers are ready to open the curtains and show you JUST how dark it can get. don’t worry though, i’ve got extra tickets 🙂‍↕️🎟️

Maverick had my jaw literally unhinged - just when you think it can’t get any darker, he will prove you wrong every single time. Blythe had the other half of my heart all twisted up… while he is the polar opposite of his brother in so many ways, they are also one and the same. you truly can’t love one more than the other because they physically make it impossible, while terrifying you all the same. i felt like we were getting all the texas chainsaw massacre ft the hills have eyes vibes and i LOVED it.

Rory was everything i love in an fmc. just as deliciously twisted, never backing down without a fight, and bathed in the same darkness as the brothers. while i did love this one, there were certainly parts where i was genuinely questioning myself, but that’s where the fun starts 🤭

before picking this one up, i would absolutely check your TW’s as nothing about this read is light. take care of yourselves always, angels!! 🖤

“𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘳𝘥. 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦.”

infinite stars for this absolute masterpiece. i don’t even know where to start - i love this book with my wholeee entire being 😭

the banter, the spice, the chemistry, Beetlejewel & Lilia - absolutely PERFECT.

Jewel breaking the fourth wall had me sitting here giggling like a madwoman… Moxie captured Beetlejuice’s persona so perfectly within her, while still making her feel completely like her own character. and watching Lilia step into her own light was EVERYTHING to me. i truly do not think i could love two characters more.

not only did i fall in love with these two, but the atmosphere of Lilia’s spooky home, the ghosts, ALL OF IT!! i didn’t want this one to end… and by the second epilogue??! i was in SHAMBLES. snotty tissues and all because ohmigerd. they all deserve the world and so much more!! 🥹

if you grew up watching Beetlejuice as i did - trust me when i say you are not going to want to miss adding this one to your tbr!! actually, you MUST.

forever thank you @authormoxie for inviting me to be apart of your arc team for such a special story, i will be thinking about these two for the rest of my life 🖤

this Corpse Bride retelling was everything i needed and more to start October off with!! as someone who’s entire personality is every Tim Burton film ever made - i just KNEWWW i was gonna eat this one up. and i finished wanting Death (fictionally ofc… 🧍🏼‍♀️) to eat me up instead.

𝕯𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖍’𝖘 𝕭𝖗𝖎𝖉𝖊 was written so beautifully, dark, and twistingly addictive. these characters are everythinggg to me. Penelope is so strong willed, fiercely driven, with absolutely no desire to be tamed. and while Death has claimed her as his bride, she’s been promised to someone else…

pls don’t EVER ask me to choose between Death & Victor. because i will choose why choose. every. single. time. give me the man who would destroy the world for the woman he loves, and give me the man who would gladly sacrifice himself to give her the world. i will take them BOTH, gladly. 🙂‍↕️

the spice was everythingg and i’m obsessed with the folklore and gothic atmosphere intertwined with this one. if there’s one book i would erase from my mind frequently just to relive it all over again - it’s THIS one. i cannot recommend it enough!!

thank you so much @logold_author for the opportunity to be apart of your arc team!! 🥹🖤 this hauntingly beautiful story will stay with me until the end of time, i’m sure of it.

want a rec that’ll carve your heart right out of your chest, and then stomped on for extra measures?! boy do i got you covered… 🧍🏼‍♀️

this was such a fun, and epic ride but i am DISTRAUGHT. i will forever hold Lora and Zai so dear to my heart, i want SO badly to be apart of their world but i would have such a hard time determining on whether or not i wanted to be apart of the Sun Kingdom or Moon Queendom lol. just let me have bothhhh!!

i really loved the magic and monster mayhem intertwined with all of the action, the worldbuilding was incredibleee. i felt like i was really there watching everything unfold and could picture the monsters so clearly! and the SKY PIRATES?! yeah, you heard me right - i knew IMMEDIATELY i needed to pick this one up as it piqued my interest from the jump 🙂‍↕️ the side characters absolutely stole the show for me though, Kestrel i’m looking at you 🫵🏼 i laughed, i cried, i wanted to throw myself through a wall due to frustration on so many counts… but SO worth it. every bit.

every time i thought we were going to catch a break, something new would come in and absolutely wreak HAVOC. at no point did i see any of it coming, truly gobsmacked. i seriously cannot recommend this one enough and i am so pumped for book two!! i need it like i need oxygen to survive…

thank you so much @ann.glimmer for the opportunity to read this one early 🥹❤️ i am sending you so much love and hype - as this book truly deserves it ALL!!

there’s something about a man who despises being touched but yearns for the touch of a single woman that absolutely, invariably undoes me.

i was HOOKED.

Briar & Enzo are complete polar opposites in every way, but somehow along the line, those differences start to blur and somehow, they cross that line anyway.

Briar is not timid or weak - she is strong, fierce, and every bit as protective over the people she loves as is Enzo. but while he was taught that love makes you weak, that it gives someone the power to control you - Briar learned how to take that control and make it her own. to wield it on her own terms, in a way that showed she’d do it all over again just to protect herself and her sister.

my heart did indeed break a bit, i was STRESSINGGG so bad going through this one but i inhaled it nonetheless. i loved their story so much and i absolutely cannot wait for more - I NEED MOREEEE!! 😩

thank you so much @juliaemmaauthor for inviting me to be along this ride and apart of your arc team!! i couldn’t have loved this one more, and i am forever grateful to have gotten the opportunity to read this one early 🥹🖤

Mia, what did you do to me… i am unwell. every move felt calculated, every shadow another piece on the board, and somehow i was the one getting checkmated🧍🏼‍♀️

Kane & Thea’s story was everything and MORE. i truly couldn’t put this one down - i loved Eva & Mason’s story, but the shadows that lurked within Kane, the dark calculations behind his every move, and the authority he has with just one single word - pack it upppp!! i knew i was a goner.

Thea has my whole entire heart. i found bits of myself in her and loved her even more because of it. running and shielding herself from every trigger, every dark place, only to be brought to the darkness who would shield her from it all. Kane.

and this man… THIS MAN!! Mia, i don’t know how you do it - but i fear i have developed a palate for fictional men who would not only ruin the world for their girl, but ruin me for all other fictional men 🫠 he wanted nothing more than to just have Thea for himself, all of her. and while she could always run, he would always catch her…

i plan to keep these two tucked away in my morally gray heart forever. and ever 🖤

thank you so much @author_miathorn & @lovenotes.pr for gifting me an earc of this beautiful masterpiece!! and an even bigger thank you for blessing me to be apart of your amazing arc team - i am forever so grateful to be able to read these stories and scream about them with you!! 🥹😭

screaming a happy release day to the amazinggg @kennedyrhodesbooks!! ✨ thank you & @rattlethestarspr so much for the opportunity to be apart of your arc team for this special release!! 🥹

if you’re a lover of witchy fall reads, coffee and Practical Magic - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐱 is perfect for you!! ☕️🤍🍂

this had the perfect blend of cozy, witchy magic, humor and banter i was looking for to bring me into the fall season. i loved every bit of this one, but Sorren?! absolutely floored meee. because what can go wrong when you accidentally summon a demon inside your home?!? more like, what can go RIGHTTT 🤭

Sorren isn’t the kind of demon your mind probably goes to when you think of them, and hell just may not be the burning, dooming pits of despair everyone thinks it is… more like corporate office hell - and Sorren is the Prince of Hell clearing one paper stack at a time 😂 i don’t think there was a single part while reading this where this demon didn’t have me either swooning or laughing out loud.

Eva is honestly the exact kind of witch i would be (or at least hope i would be…) if i were ever welcomed into a coven. because yes, i’m constantly losing my keys, wallet - everything in between - and would certainly lose my head if it were not attached lol. overall, i really loved this one and i cannot waittt for more witchy goodness this fall!!
