Blessed that I can run everyday in these amazing woods and miles of trails without ever seeing another human (very rare) within walking distance of my house. And who doesn’t love a sea of coral bean! #WithlacoocheeStateForest by @val_simonson

Honey Bee - Essential to the agriculture industry and promoted as “in peril” which simply is not true. Essential to Ag- 100% yes. Are there perilous hive problems to manage? Yes. Expensive livestock - yes! But make no mistake we (humans) are excellent at managing honey bees. These ladies are extremely pushy to the local population of pollinators. The locals are mostly solitary (and the ones really in danger) and Honey bees will take over. They are currently taking over the hummingbird feeders- NO THEY ARE NOT STARVING. Plenty of flowers in this area. Everything is in bloom. Honey bees are opportunistic and do these girls have boxes close by, probably. The hummingbirds however- are outta here, haven’t seen one in about a week around the feeders due to these bossy b!t@$es. I love honey bees, and I love how symbiotic the human-Honey bee relationship is and for THOUSANDS of years! We all Love the sweet sauce (anyone who says “meh, it’s ok” just leave now). I do, however, like the locals too. YES, I did remove the feeders for a few days and put them back this morning- and here they are. Enjoy ladies! 🐝🌸 by @val_simonson
