Featured: I got this 1971 1302 Super Beetle when I was 16, and I still own it today at 35. It was given to me by my grandfather’s best friend so I could start driving. The car had not been on the road for 15 years, but it had been stored safely in a shed. With the help of a few friends and a student budget, I got it running again and drove vintage for the next couple of years. Later on, I added a few accessories when I could afford them, slowly making the car my own while continuing to drive it as much as possible.

Two years ago, after the car sat in my garage for a while without an engine, I decided it was time to give it new life with the upgrades I had always planned. It has never been fully restored, just some paintwork done about 10 years ago, but now it has a more classic German sport style with four wheel disc brakes, front and rear stabilizer bars, a 2110 engine, reinforced 8x31 gearbox, Recaro seats from the 1980s, Kamei front spoiler, Momo steering wheel, and more. I drive it several times a week, and it is always a joy on the roads of the south of France. Every time I turn the key, I think of my grandfather, and that makes this car truly special.

Yesterday I had the chance to attend the
Le Mans Classic Series Test Days organized by @peterauto at @circuitpaulricard .

Seeing these historic endurance machines on track is always something special.
The sound, the atmosphere , the smell of fuel and burnt rubber bring a unique reminder of motorsport’s golden era.

Grateful to witness these incredible cars being driven the way they were meant to be , before the race season 🏁
and to capture a few frames along the way.

Friday on the track at @lemansclassicseries — 10 000 Tours by @peterauto at @circuitpaulricard.

Grey skies, sometimes rain on the track, and cars still pushing hard. 🔥
The smell of burnt rubber and fuel in the air, wet asphalt, loud engines, the whole atmosphere felt raw.

These are the conditions I love to photograph.
Imperfect, moody, nothing polished. Just racing as it is. 🏁
