I was transferring my drawings using a light box when my kitten decided to play 😂 🐈
I placed Scattered Dots, Pinky Candy Moon Ribbons and Stars for Merry Maximalist Christmas patterns and Tea Towels on the floor and this is what happened 🤣🙄🤔
My pattern samples are alive and all kitten's fluffy hair was removed 😎 and ready for licensing 💡🖨️✨🖥️

If someone asked me what is my favourite part of being a pattern designer it would be the whole process. I love the first steps when the idea emerges and visual research leads me to books, music, stories and walks.
They all guide me to my creative table where I sketch. As you see in this reel I have dried lavender, petals from strawberry and over dried orchid stem. This is my design development routine ✏️ ☺️ where I sketch a lot. I love it 🤩
My eyes and hands draw when my brain is working on the details and stories. I know the moment when I see the shapes relate to the story. At that moment I see the colour palette...
🎨 🖌️ Colouring part is magical ✨ and again my favourite 😊
Vectorizing process is not easy. However, I develop and refine my design at this stage 🖥️ and print repeats 🖨️ to see the composition, colour, space between motifs, geometric or organic shapes, and size of course.
Having samples in my hands is the beginning of the new chapter of the story that customers create. I think it is a never ending story. And this is why I love it 🤩

Sketching a lot this week ✏️📗

Here is the Stargazing collection in whole beauty 🌠🪐☀️🌕☄️
For the Merry Maximalist Christmas challenge I created Pinky Candy Moon Gold Ribbons and Stars 🤩 printed on petal signature cotton.
And Halloween Tea Towel in Terracotta Moth in Classic Beige and Star Anise 🥰 printed on linen cotton canvas.
It's more sketching to come for the Toile #spoonflowerchallenge 😎

Today I spent some time in the hallway with my Hydrangea wallpaper.
It was designed for the Spoonflower design challenge in July and the vote is still open 🫶
I love wallpaper and I decided to have Hydrangea on the hallway walls. It's small and this design works well. I am happy with the result.
It's beautiful and modern. Half tone palette in blue, lilac, grass green buttery yellow and dusted rose gives 3D dimensions and makes more space 🎨🖌️☺️

The first Spoonflower challenge I participated in was in the middle of the summer this year. I loved it 🥰
Opulent Halloween gave me a taste of challenge, creative challenge.
I didn't compete with everyone I started learning.
I learnt how to show up, begin and complete the task, commit, consistency, going beyond the comfort zone.
Herbarium Botanical was the one that pushed me out of my comfort place.
And I learnt a lot about the messy middle designing for Merry Maximalist challenge.
Hydrangea design led me to the healthy habit when I started feeling comfortable with what I do and why.
Hydrangea and Botanical Herbarium changed my opinion about floral pattern ☺️ I thought I am not floral person. I was wrong. I love to sketch flowers, petels, florets, leaves, stems and flowers 🌸🌿😍
I also learn a big deal about my design practice, colours I like and shapes🎨🖌️
And I know that this is just the beginning.
So, my point is - even if it looks different and challenging you will learn and progress 🫶✨
