For many people attending and participating in Valentino Valentine's Flower Power Kiki Ball, it was an opportunity to express themselves through vibrant colors, textures and, of course, florals.

Here's a look at some of the moments we captured from an evening of high energy, higher stakes, and love. by @valentinovalentin

Earlier this month, Valentino Valentine, mother of KiKi House of Flora, presented the Flower Power KiKi Ball at Meow Wolf, bringing together children of ballroom and spectators alike.

Rocky Mountain PBS has gone behind the scenes to give you a look into Denver's growing ballroom scene, starting with House of Flora's rehearsal just two weeks before the big event.

Ballroom culture began in New York City in the early 70s, blooming from drag ball culture, founded by queer and trans, Black and brown individuals, in response to societal racism and exclusion.

Produced by Devin Cochran, in collaboration with Carly Rose, Cormac McCrimmon and Amanda Horvath.

Grateful to be blooming into my 5th ball with the wild & wondrous Meow Wolf Denver 🌸. The Flower Power KiKi Ball is almost here… U ready?

Let’s do our BIG ONE, Denver. I’ve been watching y’all water your craft, and I can’t wait to see what blossoms on that floor. I’m LIT… so let’s have a TIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!! 💥💐

Be sure to peep the house rules and keep it cute— security is a quick hand gesture away.

Let me know in the comments which house you think is walking away with the most wins teehehe 🏆 🤭🌸

And shoutout to my house @kikihouseofflora for holding it down for me with honesty, and grace. Always within reach, always real. I love y’all deeply— thank you for growing with me. 🌱🫶🏾🥹

I am deeply honored and thrilled by the meaningful partnership that has taken shape with Meow Wolf. It fills my heart with joy to witness the incredible creations that have emerged as a result of our collaboration.

Now, let me express my love for my beloved floras, the ballroom House that I am privileged to be the mother of. In your presence, my spirit blossoms like the most vibrant flower. Each member of our House is a cherished petal, contributing their unique beauty and strength to our garden. Excited to see where and how we continue to bloom! 🌸💐🌺 @kikihouseofflora
