Three days in Fort Worth. One powerful reminder: **Black businesses matter, and our advocacy must match their ambition.** From September 23–25, I attended the TAAACC Conference alongside Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Valerie Warrior and Board Member Terri Thomas. It was a masterclass in what Black businesses need to grow and scale—and what we, as Black chamber leaders, must do to champion them. We were honored to meet Texas Representatives Aisha Davis of District 109 and Junion Ezeonu of District 101. Thank you to the TAAACC Board of Directors and Conference Planning Committee for three powerful days of learning, connection, and renewed purpose. We’re bringing that energy back to Collin County. The Weapon Can Hurt and Still Not Prosper Because the weapon is not sovereign, the weapon can hurt and still not prosper. Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper." The text does not say the weapon will not form. It does not say the weapon will not be aimed. It does not say the weapon will not hurt. It says the weapon will not prosper. A weapon can wound and still fail. A weapon can leave a mark and still miss its mission. The question is not only, "Did it hurt me?" The question is, "Did it finish me?" Did it make me stop trusting God? Did it make me surrender my calling? Did it make me become what wounded me? If the answer is no, then the weapon did not prosper. It may have caused pain, but it did not prosper. It may have touched your life, but it did not take your future. Sometimes victory is not that the weapon never touched you. Sometimes victory is that the weapon touched you and could not take what God put in YOU! The Final Word Is Righteousness, Not Resistance Isaiah 54:17 does not end with the weapon. It ends with righteousness: "This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord." That is where the promise rests. Not in my ability to be strong, fight back, explain everything, or outlast every attack in my own power. God says, "Their righteousness is from Me." The final word over my life is not my resistance. It is His righteousness. When you know your righteousness comes from God, you do not have to build your whole life around proving yourself. The enemy cannot successfully condemn what God has already covered. The tongue cannot finally sentence what God has already justified. The weapon cannot ultimately destroy what God has decided to preserve. Because the final word is righteousness, not resistance. Righteousness, not reputation. Righteousness, not revenge. "And their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord." It was formed, but it is not final. It was aimed, but it is not sovereign. It rose, but it will not rule. It touched my life, but it cannot take my future. It left a mark, but it failed its mission. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. YES, GOD IS REAL!💯🥰🔥 by @valeriecollective

Happy Heavenly Father’s Day to my Daddy Joe. ❤️🕊️ Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you, miss you, and wish you were still here with me. Today, I celebrate your life, your love, and the incredible father you were. I am forever grateful that God blessed me with the BEST father on earth. Your wisdom, strength, PROTECTION and unconditional LOVE helped shape me into the woman I am today. At one time, there were FOUR of us. Now, there’s only ONE… just ME! You, Mom, and my baby sister Vickie are all together in Heaven. Some days, the weight of that reality is almost unbearable. Most days are happy and filled with gratitude and happy memories. Then other days are extremely very heavy and filled with grief and longing for the mom, dad and baby sister that I MISS AND LOVE SO MUCH! BUT GOD. God continues to carry me when I feel weak, comfort me when I feel lonely, and remind me that love never dies. Though my heart aches, I find peace knowing that my baby sister is reunited with you and Mom; and happy you’re ALL resting in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Daddy, thank you for every sacrifice, every lesson, every prayer, and every expression of love. I carry you with me every day, and I will cherish your memory for the rest of my life. We took this picture at Vickie’s funeral on December 30th. I never imagined you would be gone 3 months later! When you’re young you never know the impact a person will have in your life. I’m grateful to have teachings and memories of Aunt Shirley that will last a lifetime. Tea parties and etiquette lessons at 7 and 8 years old was the norm. In the 2nd grade, Shawn and I were the tallest Girl Scouts and the tallest girls in our class, yes taller than the boys too. We often felt awkward and like tall trees. You taught us to love our height and to ALWAYS stand tall and hold your head up! You taught us to ALWAYS be poised, graceful, smart, educated, kind to others (even when they weren’t kind to you) and my favorite is to “Be A Lady At All Times”! Thank you Aunt Shirley for being the role model GOD called you to be. Thank you for imparting so much love and wisdom in my life. Thank you for loving me like a daughter. You were a beacon of light to the world and I’m so grateful and blessed to have you in my life. I love you, miss you and I promise you will never be forgotten. You fulfilled your assignment and purpose on this earth. You finished your race. Take a bow Queen. Give my Sissy a hug! Rest well Aunt Shirley! I’ll see you someday on the other side. Happy Heavenly Birthday to my sweet sister, Vickie. Today we remembered and celebrated you! I miss you more than words could ever express. My heart still aches in disbelief that you are gone. Yet I find comfort knowing you are no longer suffering and are resting in peace. I am so grateful that I was able to surprise you with a birthday party for your 58th birthday. I never imagined it would be your last here with us, but that memory is now etched in my mind and I will cherish forever. I miss my sassy, sweet little sister so much.
