Meet ✨Ritz✨ !

1. Where are you from?
Mission Viejo. SoCal!

2. How long have you been with Valiant?
Almost 2 years of ownership but I’ve been hanging around the shop since 2018 🥲

3. How long have you been doing hair?
7 years in January

4. What inspired you to get into hair?
I got into hair at 22, hanging around Valiant and going to hair shows. Cutting my roommates hair into choppy, punky mullets is what made it click, I realized it was my favorite creative outlet.

5. Favorite haircut/service?
Vivid color with a shag or mullet!

6. Coffee/drink order of choice?
Ofc my drink the “Ritz” @caffezingaro or iced hazelnut oat latte

7. What’s playing in your headphones?
A lot of 60-90s R&B/soul, 90s west coast rap, Latin, and Motown.

8. What do you like to do outside of hair?
Off the clock, I’m probably digging at an estate sale, riding my motorcycle, at a lowrider cruise, hanging with my cats, or eating somewhere new!

Get to know ✨Tyler✨

1. Where are you from?
I am from a small town called Pembroke in New Hampshire.

2. How long have you been with Valiant?
Since I moved to Seattle in fall of 2017

3. How long have you been doing hair?
I first started cutting hair in 2010 while in high school where I built out a basement barbershop for all of my friends. I got my professional license in 2012 after going to a barber school called New England Shool of Barbering

4. What inspired you to get into hair?
I got inspiration from a barbershop called American Barber Studios in my hometown. Seeing how great you could make someone feel while also getting to be your authentic self, and seeing how close of a community it could form was truly amazing.

5. Favorite haircut/service?
No haircuts are created equal. I don’t have a favorite, being able to create something new and original for each client is what I love doing.

6. Coffee/drink order of choice?
Anything from Dunkin’ Donuts

7. What’s playing in your headphones?
G-funk

8. What do you like to do outside of hair?
Spend time with my family and friends. Golf and drive around in old cars.

1. Where are you from?

Born and raised in Shoreline WA

2. How long have you been with Valiant?

I’ve been with Valiant for around a year now

3. How long have you been doing hair?

6 years

4. What inspired you to get into hair?

I’ve always wanted my work to be something that inspires and helps people. To me, hair isn’t just self expression it’s a practice of self care. I feel grateful to create a space where my clients can come in and implement that.

5. Favorite haircut/service?

Anything natural and lived in from color to cut is what I really love doing. I also enjoy a fun color block/pop project🧚

6. Coffee/drink order of choice?

Almond milk vanilla latte

7. What’s playing in your headphones?

Anything from the 90’s Seattle grunge era or as I’m typing this its Baby Baby by the band Sports

8. What do you like to do outside of hair?

I’m a big nature lover, I will most likely be in the woods on my weekends OR I’m filling my cup I’m at home with my kitties, thrifting/record shopping, spending time with my friends 🤭

Get to know ✨Hannah✨

1. Where are you from?

Central Oregon

2. How long have you been with Valiant?

4 years :)

3. How long have you been doing hair?

10ish years

4. What inspired you to get into hair?

I was always the friend that all my friends flocked to before dates, dances, parties and events for hair, make up and nails. Once in cosmo school I found that I most enjoyed cutting hair, especially shorter more edgy cuts, which lead me towards barbering. What I’ve always loved most is the community that barbershops and salons cultivate (even if it’s in the make shift one in my bathroom at my parent’s house before prom)

5. Favorite haircut/service?

I like difficult hair, working with whirls and growth patterns to change how people feel about their hair. I love most when I can have artistic freedom to give people creative styles specifically crafted to their hair and personality.

6. Coffee/drink order of choice?

Black coffee hot or a maple oat chai latte also hot

7. What’s playing in your headphones?

I have too many answers to this question. But it definitely depends on the weather, the season, the moon and my mood. I will not elaborate further :)

8. What do you like to do outside of hair?

Reading books is what fuels my passion, I and my passion is to create! :) weather its art, jewelry, or community I’m doing it for Seattle artists for Palestine and the families we fundraise for. Being in community is my purpose and art has always been my passion. Hair is art and being a barber blesses me with community.

1. Where are you from?

South Sound area of Washington.

2. How long have you been with Valiant?

2017, 9 Years and some change.

3. How long have you been doing hair?

10 years give or take.

4. What inspired you to get into hair?

I saw it as a job that had connection, expression, and freedom.

5. Favorite haircut/service?

Haircut+beard trim;
a nice haircut plus a hot towel, hot lather, and a straight razor, is barbering.

6. Coffee/drink order of choice?

Drip coffee, splash of cream.

7. What’s playing in your headphones?

Charley Crockett, reggae, the eagles, Wu-Tang; it really varies.

8. What do you like to do outside of hair?

Spending time with my wife and sons around a beach campfire; but the more the merrier.

1. Where are you from?
-Born and raised in Seattle!

2. How long have you been with Valiant?
-Just hit my one year with Valiant this January.

3. How long have you been doing hair?
-4 years!

4. What inspired you to get into hair?
-I looked at hair as artistic expression for myself, before I ever saw it as a service. I always loved getting my hair done while growing up. My stylists made their chairs loving spaces, helped me express myself, and taught me the value of unanticipated connection. I really quickly realized I love creating, working with people, and everything hair can be.

5. Favorite haircut/service?
-I love a colorful color block on a shag. I keep coming back to it & it never disappoints.

6. Coffee/drink order of choice?
-Work day, we’re going iced Americano. I’ll go cute cafe special any other day.

7. What’s playing in your headphones?
-Lotttts of 80s right now, mazzy star always, and whatever you would deem girly pop music. Psychic Twin is my newest find.

8. What do you like to do outside of hair?
-Spend time with friends & family (two kitties at home), knitting with Jersey shore on for background.

Get to know our stylist ✨Narin (na-reen)✨!

1. Where are you from?
- Originally born in iran, I grew up in virginia and lived there until 2013.

2. How long have you been with Valiant?
- I joined valiant june 2025

3. How long have you been doing hair?
- 2018

4. What inspired you to get into hair?
- I grew up in a small town in virginia where self-expression was pretty limited to what people already were accustomed to. Having curly hair led me to not trusting too many folks with my own hair, so i had to figure it out for myself. as i grew older, so did my personal style along with the many hairstyles i had. Once i moved to seattle i realized i wanted to continue helping others achieve their own personal style through collaborative haircuts.

5. Favorite haircut/service?
- Razor cuts on textured hair, as well as creative blonding.

6. Coffee/drink order of choice?
- Earl grey tea with some honey.

7. What’s playing in your headphones?
- Top genres would be 70s outlaw country, Persian, 80s/90s hip hop and r&b.

8. What do you like to do outside of hair?
- I love all things vintage and antiquing, taking photos and above all i love spending time with my dogs and my cat!

There have been so many changes at Valiant Collective over the past year that it felt like the right time for a reintroduction. Ritz and I came together in ownership with the goal of rebuilding Valiant Collective with intention. At our Queen Anne location, we brought barbering and salon stylists together to create a cohesive, welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable and included. Over the past year we’ve added new stylists, built out an entirely new space, and we’re excited to keep moving forward.
