Obsessed with our new studio mural painted by one of our YTT grads. Thank you so much Val, we love it and YOU! 🩵 by @valmar_designs

I’m doing good, been working on some new sh*t 🎨
Like this portrait of the love of my life 💖
@zach.diaz.14

This painting is extra special because the background is a fluid acrylic pour done by Zach’s younger sister (she doesn’t have an insta handle but shoutout to Hannah). It felt important for his portrait to have a piece of his family in it 🫶🏼

I took a break from Instagram for almost a year now, and it really freed up a lot of energetic space & time for me. I felt disconnected from the chaos, and more connected to myself, the earth & the cosmos, and the present moment. I was able to focus more on the enjoyment of the creative process, rather than the pressure to create content. I released outdated wishes to become an instafamous artist & leaned into gratitude for my job that allows me to create art without needing to be paid for it. Embracing that not all passions have to be turned into a side hustle to be worth doing.

All of this to say, I’m back on Instagram! Lol but I’m playing by my own rules this time and frankly not giving a duck about numbers and algorithms and viral trends (aka all the things that don’t really matter). I honestly just missed sharing my art with folks ❤️ and I’ve been working on several different projects that I’m excited to show off :)

Peace & love yall, happy creating! ✨

${ unfinished // work in progress } 🦂🌙🌊 I was hoping to complete this yoga series but life had other plans for me ! And of course the month / zodiac sign I got stuck on is also my birthday month lol. It’s fitting tho, since Scorpio is all about transformation & the cycle of death & rebirth. As I shift into my new identity as a mom I find myself thinking about this painting sometimes in the middle of the night, and wondering if I’ll return to it someday… but for now I’ve got another masterpiece that is taking priority 🖤 by @valmar_designs$

October ~ Bakasana ~ Crow Pose 🐦‍⬛⚖️🌙

With the autumn equinox & harvest moon we entered Libra season, which is the inspiration for this month’s yoga asana. (Also obviously inspired by Halloween vibes). Crow pose represents this air element sign & the balance of opposing forces. The libra archetype is often associated with the scales of justice - representing finding not only physical balance but that of fairness and harmony. Bakasana reminds us that inner & outer balance is a practice, not a destination.

So giving birth was a pretty surreal experience 🌀✨👶🏽
This is a sketch of what I saw as my baby transitioned through the cosmic portal and into the world . Plus a few other sketches from my pregnancy since painting required too much effort. by @valmar_designs

September ~ Baddha Konasana ~ Butterfly🦋

This month is all about transition of summer into fall, the metamorphosis of caterpillar into butterfly, and the harvest of all the seeds we’ve been growing throughout the year. Baddha Konasana is a shape that grounds us through these transitions while giving us space to go inward & allow ourselves to transform. Inspired by Virgo, a mutable earth sign that is both grounded & flexible - able to adapt to changing circumstances. Connected to the divine feminine and Mother Earth, the butterfly represents self-empowerment, healing, and harmony.

Huge thank you to our extremely talented photographer @coreymorganphotography for continuing to capture our magic moments! ✨☺️ by @valmar_designs

August ~ Parsvottanasana ~ Pyramid 🌞🦁

This month’s shape is inspired by Leo energy, ruled by the Sun and the element of fire / sunlight. It is connected to our solar plexus chakra ~ Manipura ~ located in the core right above the belly button, which is where our inner fire, strength, & willpower / confidence come from.

The pyramid is considered one of the strongest structures in architecture / geometry & this asana embodies that. The pyramid’s wide, stable foundation is formed by feet about hips distance apart & back foot at a 45 degree angle, with the tip of the pyramid (your core center) actively lifting up towards the sun. We stabilize ourselves further through a flat spine, heart parallel to the earth & hands reaching down to ground all that fiery energy.

July ~ Utkata Konasana ~ Goddess 🌜🦀🌊

Happy Independence Day from this fierce goddess!! This hip-opening asana channels energy up through the calves and inner thighs, into the sacral chakra & heart space, then sends it out the fingertips & crown. It’s a beautiful shape for strengthening the legs, improving posture, & standing in your power.

Astrologically, July corresponds with Cancer season, so I took inspiration from this watery sign. Ruled by the divine feminine Moon spirit, Cancer is deeply in tune with the push & pull of the tides — emotionally intelligent & empathetic, with a strong protective shell like the crab. Her superpower is her sensitivity & ability to stabilize herself amidst the waves. ♋️🦀🌊

June ~ Garudasana ~ Eagle 🦅🌞🩵

Garudasana represents the transition from earth to air element with June & Gemini season. This asana challenges your sense of balance and requires you to lock into a point of focus & ground into the present moment to maintain stability. From there, you are able to lift up energetically through the crown & spread your wings.

The Eagle ties into the energy of Gemini through its ability to ride the wind, traveling & seeing the world from different perspectives. Gemini’s somewhat infamous archetype of The Twins and their dual-naturedness is represented by the eagle’s reflection in the water.

welcome to ~ the fairy spa ~ 🧚🏼✨🍄

I painted this magical little escape over an old acrylic pour done by my sister in law & I love how it adds a layer of whimsy to the background.

And yes, one of the fairies did lose her top lol 🌸
Which one are you??
